If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Good afternoon friends,

I am in the process of shopping for a Telluride and I got few quotes and ofcourse they had a markup of about $4000 above MSRP, which I am not OK paying...

If I wait about 4 to 6 months, do experts believe that production should be normal by then and we should maybe start paying UNDER MSRP ?

I have never heard of cars selling at or Above MSRP so I am wondering if the prices will drop once the shortage gap has been filled.

Thank you all!

The value of these vehicles exceeds the MSRP. While supply shortages have made people wait longer than they want to, I do not believe that has contributed to the market based priced adjustments.

Define "normal"...

See new Corvette for OVER CHARGING!

By Normal I mean to have anywhere from 20 to 40 of them on the lot just like you would find a Sorrento or any other vehicle.
Don't see that happening for AT LEAST a year from now! Stinger was HOT when it came out. Not that the Stinger compares to the Telluride. But - dealers were overcharging initially. At least around here. Now 2+ years later they have $5,000 to $6,000 off sticker. Don't plan on seeing that kind of discount on the Telluride. Ever. But, hey, no crystal ball here.

I don't know where in Texas you are located, but there are a few reputable dealers who are taking orders and aren't charging premiums over MSRP. I've ordered mine through Fort Bend Kia in Rosenberg. Other options are Sterling Kia in Bryan and Huffines Kia in both McKinney and Corinth (Denton). Then there is our resident platinum preferred dealer, Kia of Muncie in Muncie, Indiana who even offers Costco pricing and you can get one ordered for under MSRP. In any case, unless you get really lucky, there is going to be a wait. I'm at 10 weeks and still don't have much information regarding my order. Several others have been waiting FAR longer than I have.

I tried few dealers didn't have a good vibes, they wanted $3999 over MSRP... what trim did you order? Where you able to get any discount? If you don't mind sharing how much they quoted you?

SX with Prestige, dark moss, black interior, towing package, floor mats. Quoted me MSRP...I won't pay over.

I've seen several dealerships in Austin and the Dallas area charging $10k over MSRP. It is appalling.

I got really lucky to get an SX non prestige but I had to travel to Huffines Kia Corinth but it was so worth it. I didn’t pay over MSRP and compared to Florida the doc fees are very low!

Where are you located? What color did you get?

I walked in my local dealership this past Friday after inquiring about a test drive of an SX (MSRP $46,680) they showed they had. They told me it had just arrived at 9am and they were prepping it for sale this past weekend.

I was there at 10am, they were still unloading cars and prepping them. There were 8 WE appointments in line for this car I was told, and that I would have first shot at “an offer” at it, after my test drive.

Test drove and the salesperson alerted me of the fact that it would be 4k over MSRP...After the initial negotiations , the “manager came over” to explain to me about why it was 4K over MSRP, and that there was no budging...4 other people came to drive the SX while I was there, but could not drive it since I had tabs on it and I was under negotiation.

Long story short...If you are READY (good credit or pre approval, know the value if your trade in, etc etc) you CAN get the deal you want...I left the dealership at 8pm with their only SX sold at MSRP...stick to you guns, “wave the cash” in their face, don’t expect wonders or anything under MSRP, but stick to your guns...my 2 cents...

...or maybe my dealership are just decent guys...

I had a similar experience for a white S trim, AWD. $4000 above MSRP and he wasn't budging. Ended up walking away and sales guy was like it will be gone by tomorrow. he didn't care to take my contact information. Oh and they were adding another $1000 for tint and furniture warranty. Hopefully your dealers didn't do any of that
