Everyone I apologize for posting this but I am kind of lost and looking for some guidance. I have a 2003 vehicle that is on its way out and as a matter of fact the tag just expired and it will never pass inspection for another year. I was going to finally purchase a new car and I loved the look of the Grand Cherokee. This was until I got inside one. Little small for my liking. Then I was recommended to look at the Telluride. I was blown away by the look, space, and the tech. Went to a local dealership and the model on the showroom nailed it home for me. This was short lived as the dealer informed me that you can't get them.
At this point I am waiting for the 2 local dealerships in the area to contact me if they get what I'm looking for in stock. I want an Black SX with the black rims. I also am looking for the Prestige package with the Dune colored Nappa leather interior, and AWD. Big surprise right? Is there a problem with the Dune color? Daily I build the vehicle on Kia's site and check the inventory on the max 100 miles radius. It returns quite a few with 8 exact matches. When I look at the 8 exact matches they are all either gray or black interior. That is not an exact match. The funny thing is if I look at every car on the page regardless of the configuration there is not a single car listed with the Dune color interior. There is plenty of gray, black and even white. Did they run out of Dune material?
At this point I am a little surprised neither dealer has given me option to have one built from the factory. I have my heart set on the configuration above and for almost 50k I really don't feel you should have to settle. The one dealer stated that he will let me know as he gets about one a week in. I was thinking to myself it could be ten years before my configuration comes in only getting 1 vehicle in a week.
Any ideas why neither local dealer is offering me this option? I guess I could call them and say I want you to order me my configuration and I'll wait the 3 months for it to be built. I just assumed it was not an option since they were not offering it. If I'm successful in ordering the vehicle it's going to be 3 months, or how ever long, riding around living in the right lane and looking in my rear view mirrors looking for the po po. I Didn't plan to have this much trouble purchasing a new car.
Thanks.
