• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Since I have no real need for remote start, I never got around to activating/installing the UVO app. It might be useful for a few features, like remote door unlock. Aside from giving Kia access to too much personal information, any chance there will be annoying glitches and or Kia big brother "notifications" if installed?

Yes, as I see it they’ll track you everywhere you go via “trips”. They’ll monitor you mileage so they can send you a reminder that service is due. They’ll probably monitor other things as well.

These “features” will be included as part of the “free” UVO service after the trial is over. Some people may like this while others won’t. Anything else that are actually useful for the owner will need to be purchased.

The cellular service in your KT will not be terminated after the trial is over since you still get get their “basic” service for “free”. It’ll be on for life, unless your can ask for the cellular service to be deactivated. They will just disable most of the UVO functions and monetize different features in various service tiers.

If you don’t need it or foresee privacy concerns don’t activate it.

Yipes! Wish I hadn't activated it ... considering I had to walk out in 25 degree temps to start the car the past two mornings. This after messing with the app on my phone and from my laptop for who knows how long to no avail. Still love my Telluride, though. ☺

I’ve only been using this for a day, and I actually like the Kia Access App (UVO).

I like the climate option, and the way the bypass/take over feature works when the car is remotely started. I’m not a fan of the subscription cost though(n)

I like the UVO and use it frequently for the remote start. I like the fact the remote start keeps the door locked as well. The location option is also a favorite. Used it the other day after parking my car few blocks down from a Veterans Day parade and couldn’t remember its location. I think it’s subjective to how much personal information you want to give up for convenience and technology. In this day and age, Kia isn’t what you ought to worry about. Google already has all your information!

Does the UVO Remote Start and Climate control shut off after 10 minutes? Is that for safety reasons?

How long is the free trial period for?

I think it's part safety. Some may forget and start their vehicle in an attached garage.:)

Yep, it shuts off after 10minutes and I think yes it’s for safety reason.

...And that is pretty much all manufacturers today!

The frustrating thing is I have all that currently on my 18 Ford Escape with a "Ford App" and pay NOTHING!

I hear you! And I agree. I honestly believe if we ( Telly owners) keep bringing it to Kia that UVO should be free, there may be a chance they would either reduce the UVO fees down to little to nothing. The Telluride is right now one of their biggest success and WE ( Telly owners) are the reason for it. Happy Telly owners=more Telluride sales next year so we should collectively express our UVO concerns to Kia. Just a thought.

I certainly will be doing everything I can to pressure 'em!!!

Yep especially since their sister company Hyundai gets three years of Blue Link included.

I'm thinking that I'll probably opt for an aftermarket solution, like Drone Mobile when my 1 yr. free subscription ends.

Definitely cheaper alternative than the UVO subscription cost.
