• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... This is my first vehicle with black wheels and having dealt with chrome all my car life.......gotta ask some "dumb" questions! What actually is the "black" finish?? Paint? What is the best way to deal with knicks or scratches......assuming that's a possibility?

Oh, it's a possibility! Unfortunately, I already scratched my black front passenger wheel somehow in city driving. I was going to ask if anyone had any good solutions. I was referred to a wheel repair shop by my dealership - I haven't reached out to that person yet.

No need to repair, from my experience with low profile tire and rim packages, you will get another scratch as soon as you get it fixed.

Use a permanent marker to camouflage it

It's paint...repair just as you would with other painted parts. There are typically places around that "repair" painted stock wheels. I know near here there is a company that goes from one dealership to another, kind of a mobile van deal, repairing wheels on cars that the dealers want to re-sell. Refinishing/repairing a moderately scratched wheel will probably run you 74-150 depending on the company. You could ask a local dealer who they use (try a high end dealer like Porsche or something to ensure you'll get someone good....since many of those buyers are picky)
