• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... On your Tellurides can you move your vehicle with the tail gate up? Like when I get my groceries loaded by the bagger I usually start moving and hit the button on my current Durango which is nice because I don't have to worry about hitting the bag boy in the head vs our pacifica we had to be fully stopped in order to shut the tailgate.

o_O Really??

Yep it really happened. Tailgate hit him in the head on the Pacifica. Just wanted to know if you can move forward while the tail gate is up in the Telluride.

How about answering the basic question I asked for vs questioning the question?

On behalf of all of us who have kind of "laughed" at this (including me), here's the honest answer: yes....you can move the Telluride with the liftgate open ....alarm will sound, warning will show up on the instrument panel, ertc. , but , yes you can move the vehicle with it open. It was just an unusual question and most of us had never considered wanting to move the vehicle with it open. Hope this helps. Merry Christmas!

It's not about laugh, but rather a hazard issue. Your stuff could be falling out and you might actually forget that your hatch is still open.
Happy Hanukkah!

Thanks. I laughed a bit too when I was typing it but it actually happened to me once. I usually have the cargo netting up so nothing falls out when I start to roll forward with the tailgate up.

hard to believe that no one has ever moved a piece of furniture , wood that is a bit to long to fit . For a short distance .

I bought some wood at a home improvement store on a trip that I didn’t take my utility trailer on. Rather than push it forward and risk scratching the console I hung it off the back and used a string to tie the handle to the hitch and drove a couple miles home just fine.
