Hi, newbie here. I went to a few dealers traveling from my city to 2 hours north of my city. Only ONE dealer advised that I could order the vehicle as a presale. Before the call to that dealer, I didn't even realize that was an option. I ordered an SX in Dark Moss on 3/24 with black interior but I wanted a snow white pearl SX FWD (I'm in SoCal and don't need AWD). The dealer located a dark moss and my husband liked to color so we took that one since it had a VIN and was scheduled to come in 3 weeks. We put a down payment to "hold" the vehicle, but my heart (especially since I found this site) still wants white with the butterscotch interior. No dealership within 100 miles had a white one for me to see in person.
Can the order be changed at this point? I was given a VIN# and paperwork you'd get if you had taken delivery of the vehicle, as placeholder paperwork. All of the other dealers, except for the one I ordered from had markups on the SX of $5K, $9K and one dealership even had a $12K "market adjustment"???!!! The dealership I went to gave us the vehicle for MSRP 41,798 after negotiating. There were initially charging $47K and it's not a prestige, I couldn't stomach that so I had to push him hard for the price because he only wanted to talk payment. We put down $2500 (more than I've ever put down for a lease) and got the $900 rebate (not sure if that is going to stick now since the paperwork will have to be redone when the vehicle arrives). The vehicle is supposed to be here around the 17th of April. I'll take the dark moss but I'd prefer the snow white pearl.
