Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride?

Ok I'm sure I have read it somewhere on this thread, but can't seem to find it. The warranty that Kia of Muncie is offering is a KIA backed warranty correct? My dealer is trying to sell me theirs because it is backed by KIA and only uses KIA parts. This is the same with the Muncie warranty correct? Muncie is $1578 for 8/120,000 and my dealership is offering same time frame but for $3,260. Just want to be sure that I am comparing apples to apples.

I'm not sure what specific warranty that your dealer offered, but I noticed in the full warranty being offered by Jason, there was this clause on the bottom of page four.

OUR OPTIONS: FWS will pay the repair facility directly or reimburse YOU for the repair or replacement of any Covered Part. Replacement parts utilized in connection with a MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN will be, at the discretion of FWS, new or remanufactured OEM parts, new or remanufactured aftermarket parts or used parts that meet the quality standards of the repair facility or FWS.

I wonder if what your dealer said had the same wording. His words mean nothing if it isn't in writing.

I did buy the extended warranty. Was offered at $2,000.00 we settled at $1,400.00. I usually do not buy an extended warranty. I caved as Kia's first year model with expensive electronics could still be a bomb. The electronics are limited to 36,000 miles? Please correct me if wrong. UVO is an example. Windows 95 is better.

Anyone have experience with the extended warranty from Protective Asset Protection? The 10/100,000 wrap coverage is offered through the dealer for $2,750. My inclination is to go with Jason's coverage but wanted to see if there was any feedback on this coverage. Thanks.

Yikes, that sounds too high. Hopefully there are some Canadians out there that can help find a better price.
How
for Canada, Kia-Canada does not offer an extension of the factory warranty. Warranty coverage can be purchased directly from a specific dealer, but not all offer it or through third-party companies

I just bought a Telluride picking up next week but have to decide on extended warranty .
dealer quoted $4,1000 plus tax for the 5 star warranty adds extra 5 years and 100,0000KM
. Do dealers negotiate and if there a shorter package say 3 year ?
thanks

Debating if I should buy an extended warranty on my Telluride SX. Not worried as much about the car as I am about all the electronics.

If you bought one, which one and how much? How is the coverage?
I paid $2,500.00 for bumper to bumper includindes all electronics for 10yrs or 150,000Km / $100.00 deductible after first 5yrs.

I read on thE KIA site that audio and entertainment were only covered for 3yr/36,000 miles. To me that means only the stereo system.

Why do you believe the rest of the electronics are not covered under the 5yr/60000 mile warranty?

Most other car manufactures let you add additional warranty up until such time as the basic warranty expires. Has anyone gotten something from KIA motors saying additional warranty coverage must be purchased by 5000 miles? Lots of dealers say things but what does KIA give you in writing.

I live in Arizona and bought ours from Jason. No hassles and a great price. Hopefully won't have to use it.😎🏜

We can help too. Got two options 10 year 100,000 mile $1637 and a 10 year 125,000 mile $1850. $100 detectable and that's good at any ASE shop in the country

Is this bumper to bumper and can you please send me the paperwork? The dealer is bought my Telluride from turned out to be liars and slimy is all I can say.

Korean manufacturers refer to electronics as a complete bumper-to-bumper warranty. Loudspeakers, amplifier, stereo wiring also belong to electronics.

Only the sterosystem, and then only the head unit (I hope I named it correctly in English) has a 2 year or mileage limitation.

Thanks for the information. So then the parking sensors, cameras, lane keeping cameras and all the rest are covered by the 5yr/60K warranty, correct?

I know the sales and finance personnel are required by their bosses to convince the customer to purchases warranties because it’s part of the overall sales deal. Warranty plans have widely priced options that are another way to increase dealer profit. Just like the dealers that sell at 5K over MSRP, it’s all about the money. I have no problem with that but customers should know specifically what is covered by the manufacturers warranty and not purchase out of fear because new vehicles are so heavily dependent on electronics And they believe anything and everything that has an electronic component is at risk. Maybe the reason that the stereo is covered for a shorter amount of time is because they have found amplifiers have been added that overload the design parameters of the original system.

Just like the forced protection packages that Some dealers Insist you purchase, warranty sales are another way to increase profit. If purchasing an additional warranty gives you some “Piece of mind” then great it may make sense for you.

Buying a vehicles with the best warranty in the first place and then buying an additional warranty just doesn’t seem necessary to me.

I assume you meant "any ASE shop in the COUNTRY" :) Thx
