• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Self-Leveling Suspension

@Marcinboston What about the Kia website to build a Telluride? You don't consider that the most reputable source? It clearly states Self-Leveling Rear Suspension. That doesn't include an air compressor. Is it possible the person is adding in the word "air" by mistake? A Self-Leveling shock using a pump mechanism with oil in it, not an air compressor. You are also referencing articles from April 2019.

I'm a Pats fan and you are about to open up a bunch of old wounds related to deflation.

A Kia tow package can only be delivered from the factory on either the EX or SX trims with purchase and it includes the tow option and two rear self leveling shocks only.
Owners have also reported different sized springs than stock with the Tow Package, in addition to the shocks. Makes sense since it is called a self-leveling "suspension".

Another expert car review discussing the optional SX air suspension. Hmm, believe bloggers or expert car analysts. Guess I'll hsve to find a window sticker to prove to you deniers. Not many dealers order them in this way. Kia literature has always been a bit vague. This fact was corroborated by a kia technician on my rpod rv forum. At the dealership they put 2 models side by side to figure out the difference between the two self leveling oprions; one air other just upgraded shocks. Why would he lie and bigger question why would you argue with multiple auto review magazines?

Your head must be made of hickory. Dense

quick non-leveling tow question. why on your sticker is the Prestige listed at $2000 and mine it is listed at $2300? I know you have had yours forever and I get mine next week. did they bump the price up at some point last year?

I bought mine 10 months ago, prices were lower.

Yes, price was bumped $300 for that package on Jan 3 2020. Also, base price was increased by $300. And destination was increased a total of $125 I believe. (One increase in late 2019, and the other in Jan.)

We're not deniers, we're owners. You can read whatever blog you want, we'll enjoy driving our vehicles and knowing what we have. I consider myself an expert after owning it for 9 months and researching it a year before that. We've all read the window stickers. We have them.

I can't argue with a Bostonite, but someone else will.
I am a Bostonian and I'm happy to argue this point..... :)

Thanks for helping. Hard to fight disinformation sometimes. Yeah, I laughed so hard at "Do your research!" comment. Loved your reply.

I could sit around and read a plethora of articles on the Telluride (as if I already hadn't) for "research" or I can go drive my own vehicle. Haha.

Dude, all of those references to air suspension are wrong. Simply wrong. The press gravitated immediately to report this as air suspension when the Telluride was first introduced because there previously were no mass market implementations of Nivomat self level shocks other than in some Volvo products. I too thought it was air-based given my experience with a few cars I owned w/air suspension. In short, the press and I were wrong. But, hey how can the owners here on this forum be right? Feel free to continue to waste your time trying to prove us wrong. Take a peek at the attached Kia document meant to train staff on features / comparison. You'll note they use the word "unique" to describe the self leveling suspension. This is the reference to the Nivomat setup which was never used in this segment before. I challenge you to Produce another Kia (or Hyundai Palisade) factory document including a genuine Kia Munroney sticker that labels the suspension as "air" suspension" Heck, if you can prove me wrong, I'll spring for a few brews somewhere within RT128 / 95 after the Pandemic settles down.

Anyone remember when newspapers and magazines would have columns where they would post corrections and correct mistakes from prior issues? It use to be a big deal to make a mistake on print and even after the damage was done the corrections were attempted. Today if feels information goes out on webpages and very few times do you see someone go back and review for accuracy and correct mistakes. So it feeds into the miscommunication.

And let me guess. You are under 35 years of age, do not read anything but the internet, and everything they put on the internet has to be true, of course. And you have never crawled under a real SX Prestige with the Tow option.

Interested in some beachfront property in Arizona? I’ll post it on the internet for you.

I know what air suspension is, for goodness sake.

My Ram 1500 has Four corner air suspension. With the push of a button I can raise it or lower it.
My Mercedes 4Matic has air suspension. With the push of a button I can raise it or lower it.
My Telluride has self-leveling rear suspension.

The differences are HUGE.

Which is just another 'blog' - but, apparently, more believable than us, the owners of the Tellurides - to marcinboston anyway.

Same misinformation was posted on the other T-Ride forum, by the same guy...

What'da goin' do...
