• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We have been having this issue. Our entire family are non smokers. The car generally doesn't smell like cigarette when you get into the car but after driving it around you come back smelling like a cigarette had anyone had that? We changed our the air cabin filter have even got some coconut scent trees but the problem continues. I am thinking its the sofino leather. We bought it new and have racked up 15000 miles

The Sofino trim isn't leather. Per KIA's website it is leatherette - aka - Vinyl. Vinyl and other synthetic materials are subject to off gassing. Not sure about it smelling like a cigarette - but they can be unpredictable based on temperature and amount of material. Even leather seats typically have vinyl or leatherette on the sides and back. Vinyl off gasses more than leather does - so a full vinyl interior is subject to more smells from the VOCs than a leather interior.

Of course there are tons of other sources of plastics in cars such as the dash, foam, etc.

So we figured out the cause of the cigarette smell. It was the cheap rubber floor mats we got. Since at the time there wasn't anything to fit the telly. Wanted to let anyone know who has the same problem later.
