• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Keep us posted on what the "new" information is that they are sharing today!
Well, after texting my salesman this morning like he requested I do on Wednesday, and him responding that he would get back to me soon, he just had to find out the answer to one more question before calling me, I haven’t heard a word since. So either he didn’t get the answer he was looking for or he forgot about me, which he did mention they’ve been super busy this week. Considering they close at 7PM EST, I don’t think I’ll be getting any updates today.

I feel your pain, been there several times throughout this process. The worst part is no matter what the dealer tells you, do you even believe it at this point? It’s as if nobody knows. My eta has bounced around so much. First May 24th, then August 13th, to July 9th, now back to August 7th. I fully understand the May eta not happening given what’s been going on, but couldn’t tell you why they’ve had so much trouble establishing a new eta and delivering on that target date assuming there hasn’t been any new setbacks in Georgia. That said, I already turned in my old lease, I still really like the car, and it is what it is I suppose...so I wait...for now.

Yeah, I feel the same way, I’ve only been waiting since the middle of April, and my ETA has bounced from the original date of May 6th to May 26th, now to early July. I know that all of this is pretty much out of their hands at the dealership level, but it doesn’t make it any less infuriating overall. And like you said, at this point, even when I get a new ETA, it’s more than likely not going to be correct, especially since they half heartedly told me last that my 2020 was being changed to a 2021, which the new ETA of early July has me concerned if that’s even correct. I really hate to b*tch about some major first world problems, but I know there are quite a few people who are like me in the regards of the lack of communication from their dealer being the part that really ticks me off. I feel like they know how hot the Telly is and now that they have my deposit, they’re basically done with communicating with me. If I back out of the deal, they know they’ll sell the car in hours if not minutes after.

Haha, for sure total first world problems. I could really use a hair cut, my Face ID won’t work with my mask on and my Telluride delivery is taking too long!!!

So far I've had great communications with my salesperson, Cheri, at Luther Kia Bloomington, MN. So far they haven't been able to place any new orders for the 2021s. Hopefully that will change in the next couple weeks.

So dealers should be getting wind on KFOS on Wednesday for this months allocation and still no pricing. (Correct?) Any word from KIA? @StephenCantrelle

This post is excellent! Didn't see it before I made my first post asking about 2021 details (doh!).

Thanks

Just got a call that i'm being switched over to 2021. if I want. Dealer claimed not to have much details to changes. thanks so much StephenCantrelle for the details on changes. I initially had ETA of June 16 for EX premium but now ETA for 2021 looking like August-September!! :(:(. with the new added features of LED headlights and remote start, will just have to keep waiting!!

I was worried when I saw this message.. was hoping your dealer was slow on communication from the last round.. but yes another round of orders have moved from 2020’s to 2021’s.. expect calls tomorrow if you are effected.

Frustrating for sure I bet.

Interesting that he said August-September...some 2021 transfers are getting quoted ETAs of Late July. Interested to see how this all plays out.

I want to see all of the people in front of me get their vehicles ASAP so they can truly start fulfilling new 2021 orders.

Yea man, he said they have been calling owners since last week. They have about 40 owners affected. So I was guessing I was one of the new people affected. The demand for this car has been insane!

Very frustrating and what's bugging me is that they are acting like they have no details on changes. After seeing what @StephenCantrelle had posted regarding the upcoming changes, I specifically called the manager back and asked "So you are saying you dont know much details right? He was like yea things are pretty fluid now." Then I asked can I make changes to my order? He goes i think it's possible. I'll let you know as soon as i get more details...This is dealership is a pretty big dealership in the DFW area in Texas. They have been very good to me in the past so i just decided to take their word and wait.

I will say this that @StephenCantrelle has helped me understand.

I fact checked my local dealer with some of the similar things he was saying to me and at some point you have to take their word on it - they really don't know about making changes, firm ETAs, etc.

Once KFOS opens up with 2021 orders I think we are going to get inundated with more information.

Right on bro!

Got a call from my dealer in NC they also had to switch me over to 2021 and told it will be quite a while before it gets here. This is fine by me at this point. 2021 changes do matter to me while I can see how they do not to many good folks here. Middle of a highway stretch in the dead of Nebraska winter at night, going 70 on interstate, heater is a good thing to have, I had two vehicles with so-so heaters over past 20 years, they test your survival gear.

Who are you using? I went through Moritz at Aliance and the General Manager there was pretty up front and open. The sales guy was a great, but he was up front that after talking he knew that I knew more about the product in some aspects then he did. They never tried to BS me.

Moritz at Fort Worth. Have spoken to the general manager twice and they are going to keep me updated. I asked if I can make changes which they arent sure. I just surprised that they didnt have more information regarding upcoming changes. I've worked with them for a while now and theyve always been great! So I just have to believe that they dont have much information ;)

I could not be happier to hear these changes, they (no remote start on keyfob, 4 pin trailer harness) were my only holdups (and COVID) that stopped me from buying a 2020 in March...
