• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Do you charge your phone in the car? Not sure what this adds?

The adapter allows you to have all of the functionality of CarPlay without having to take your phone out of your pocket (or purse) and plug it in.

I know I personally only charge my phone in the car when I’m on a multi-hour trip. Day-to-day when I’m just going to work, running errands, etc, I don’t want to have to fuss with plugging it in just to get the CarPlay interface. This makes it so I don’t even have to think about it. And if I do need to top up, I can just set my phone on the wireless charger.

Are there any lag? How long does it take for it to boot up after powering on the car? Can you still use the steering wheel buttons (|<, >|, call and end call) with carplay? How reliable is the wireless connection?
Thanks.

Here’s my first impressions on it from back in January:

It still holds true, I really wish there wasn’t the tiny delay when you hit the next or previous track button, but all in all, I think it’s a small price to pay for the overall convenience. It turns on right away when you start the car, and usually the connection to your phone will happen within 10-15 seconds (sometimes slightly longer if you happen to still be connected to your home Wi-Fi). Once it’s connected, I’ve never had it fail

I can’t really comment on phone call performance because I never ever use my phone as a phone, and definitely not when driving.

I prefer having the better CarPlay interface to my music, podcasts, maps, etc. Having all that available all the time without ever having to fuss with taking my phone out made it a pretty easy $160 to spend.
