In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello everyone, like many, I have been lurking here for a couple of months. My wife and I have finally(I think) decided to get her a Telly for her next vehicle. My question for the people that know, or at least have an educated guess is when should we order? We currently have a leased Lincoln MKC that expires in March. We want an SX-no P AWD. We will probably order from Kia of Muncie. We have thought maybe 4 months prior , but the more I read, I'm thinking maybe next month. Any ideas??

If order books open this weekend (as many dealers expect them too) - I would order now. I ordered an SXP in January and still don't have my vehicle yet - and I haven't been waiting as long as many others on this forum.

I'd order asap. Jason Fox and the good people at KIA of Muncie will be able to update you on their current ordering status and how many people are in line in front of you along with how many anticipated allocations they should receive per month. Giving you a better idea of how long it may take to receive your ordered vehicle next year barring any more global pandemics. GL

Thanks for replies, Just trying to time it out so we don't have 2 car payments. I'll email Lucas and hopefully get an answer

If you're ordering from Muncie, 8-12 months would be good. But, Kia will supposedly be producing more SX trims. Some orders from October and November are still waiting based on forum comments.

I heard back from Lucas at Muncie and he said they are not taking orders right now, waiting for the order bank to open??

Given the great uncertainty around Telluride ordering, production and delivery, there is no way you are going to be able to time this perfectly.

I think we'd be foolish to think there won't be another plant closure or reduction of output due to direct Covid-19 issues at the plant or somewhere in the supply chain. I certainly hope not but if I were getting ready to order, I'd plan for that possibility.

Great advice, I told them to contact me as soon as they start ordering again so I can send my deposit and get it going

People are finding these things by luck as well. I ordered mine in February, dealer didn't require a deposit. It's due here in the next week or so but I was disappointed that my order wasn't pushed to a 2021 because of the added features so I found one from a dealer near me that's incoming late Aug so I put a deposit down and I'm planning on snagging that one instead. Same options as mine, just a 2021.
I've also had the opportunity to buy two in the past from my local dealer. One was just by being there at the right time. (Not my color) and one right when the pandemic started which I passed on due to the uncertainty. That one had just come off the truck, it was exactly what I wanted to I told them to let me know if the deal fell through and it did so they called me. Apparently they weren't a fan of the Dune Brown seats when they saw them in person...

Now, whether or not you can just stumble across one with no markup in your area is another story.

I guess timing is everything, we have been leasing my wife's vehicles for many years, but she is getting ready to retire and we decided to buy and keep her next one, so we are getting exactly what she wants. Her current lease runs thru March, so we can order and wait to get it, she wants the moss and espresso SX AWD. Should be a FUN wait, LOL

Spoke to a dealer today that mentioned books are expected to open this coming Wednesday (15th). Have no idea as to whether or not this is true. Maybe someone can confirm.
Also, @Jason Fox , this Costco auto program thing... given that you process these, can you confirm that this is honored on the ‘21s? Dealers honoring around here are saying that’s a ‘20MY thing. Again, have no idea what the right info is.
But that’s what this forum is about

21s are a go for us

We are in a similar situation in that we have a lease that expires in March. Unfortunately, my wife is not on the Telluride bandwagon, or else I'd have put a deposit down right now for one. It's looking worse and worse for getting the T-ride. I don't think she will budge, even when I show her the benefits and accolades. She can't see herself in a Kia... Oh well, I guess will end up driving a used MDX, Honda Pilot, or VW Atlas...

what’s the lease currently on?

We have a 2018 Honda Odyssey. We decided that we are done with minivans and wanted to get a 3-row SUV.
