Order to delivery time

@Cavgirl - I’m in Atlanta, too, and after seeing the posts today, I called my sales guy to see if I could order, and I was told the same as you — only Nightfall Edition is available to order. This was at Ed Voyles, Chamblee. Which dealership have you been talking to? Does the Costco discount get you under MSRP?
Yes, Ed Voyles Chamblee. No, not under MSRP. The Costco thing may not be doing me much good ...but the Costco page linked me to Ed Voyles Chamblee, and after seeing some of the local markups, I am happy with MSRP. I poke around on the VIN site some, but I want Gray/Gray and they just aren’t in great supply. Once the Nightfall trend started, I resigned myself to an ordering, get the car in late 2020 timeframe.

Just got an update from I-25 Kia. They said they will be placing my order with Kia on Monday 7/13 as that’s when new allocations are opening up and I am number 7 on their list of SX-P’s. From there they expect a 4-6 month wait time (they are a very high allocation dealer). Definitely better than I was expecting, we’ll see how it turns out. I’ve waited almost 14 months to get this car since the first time I ordered it. My brain is telling me to settle with an Atlas or something else, but my heart says that I’ve waited this long, what’s another 6 months?
Check out this months Consumer Reports on best new SUVs. VW Atlas does not score well on many categories, including reliability. I wouldn't take an Atlas if it was free, they have no "pick up" acceleration. No winning points with current owners.

The attached picture shows when I ordered it and I believe shows that it was in the Kia system. Mine is highlighted at the very bottom. I am guessing the ones highlighted on this sheet were cancelled and switched to a 2021YM, at least that is what I am hoping for. Just wish I could get some accurate information. Below is communications from my dealer rep:

May 8th: Kia has cancelled all Prestige orders.
May 9th: We have one more SXP still coming and it is yours. Should be here in July.
June 1st: Just kidding about the one I told you about On May 9th. It was cancelled but your order will be switched to a 2021 with a $800 price increase.
June 4th: He sent me the letter and it does look like mine will be made at some point.
June 29th: I have no clue if your original order will get made but we have a Moss SXP-NE and I can offer you that.

I am confused to say the least.
Well that is confusing! But by now they should be able to confirm if that was converted to 2021 or they need to reorder! This confusion might actually help me understand what happened with my dealer. By July my dealer told me they have no order for me and there was a miscommunication between the sales person and sales manager, in other words they forgot to place my order. Last week I called to check if they’re getting allocations and the sales person came back to me saying we see your number you called from is linked to an order you placed and you have an eta for Sept 12th. I asked her to email me a copy of the order and it actually matched my order with all the add ups! That’s why Im saying your dealer should know by now if there is an order for you or not! That paper you attached means they did place an order for you, they just gotta figure out if it was canceled or converted.

Talked to the desk manager or sales manager today and he gave me more info in one phone call than my sales lady has given me all week. He told me that the Glacier Whites are priority so if I want a SWP it may take longer, so I switched over to GWP. He told me that I only have 3 EXs ahead of me but since I'm ordering a FWD he is asking to switch out an LX FWD (that they normally would be allocated that he usually refuses) with my EX FWD. My dealer is in CO so not much need for FWD there. He said he will be putting my order into KFOS by monday EOD and by wednesday,or thursday at the latest, I would be able to get an order #. So glad I called to talk to the manager, he said he's the only one that puts the orders in and is why he was able to tell me so much info. He gave me a delivery date of late sept, early oct.

So he believes that GWP will not be replacing SWP entirely? Thought GWP would be taking over once the remaining converted SWP 2020s were built. Interesting

He said that GWP is taking priority and that they aren't making SWPs right now. He's not sure if they will later or not and I didn't want to delay receiving it at all so I just switched over. He mentioned that they may go back to SWP in a month or so, but he really doesn't know. He did mention that the wolf gray and GWP was introduced with or for the nightfall. But I did confirm that I can get the GWP without NE.

If you go to kia.com to build a telluride you’ll see both colors are available. I hope they finish making cars from 2020 orders before they start making the glacier white! If they wanna do GW first switch mine to that they both look the same to me!

Anything's possible. I mean the Nightfall option was called the Black Edition just a month ago and they've been on dealer lots for the past week so who knows. KIA dealer training material posted here stated that SWP was for 2020s and those last units converted to 2021s, then itd be GWP going forward with SWP being discontinued. Then they go and raise the SWP price to match 2021 pricing and start producing SWP Nightfalls. Lol

Augusta here. I’ve talked with Tahir at Ed Voyles and they are who we are going to go with, whether that means order or allocation purchase. They seem to be the only ones in the area at MSRP.

Did they give you a time frame on when the car would be on the lot? I'm looking to order from them as well..

Sadly they said it will likely be a Holiday arrival...like mid-late December. Honestly, I think they have no idea and that timeframe seems achievable.

For allocations entered into KFOS this weekend what timeframe can one expect for that vehicle to show up in Failcat? If this has been covered I can not find the answer now. Stephen, maybe you know the answer. Thanks.

I would say in the next 3 months! That would be kind of fast.

I think 3 mo. too long. I am thinking maybe 4 weeks max. Hopefully one of our Dealers will respond.

Well I wish that’s the case. Mine was entered before all this covid thing started. I Still Have no vin created.

If production stays strong like it has so far this month - I would think we are in the 30-60 day window as soon as all orders are processed next week.

I sure hope you’re right! I just put a deposit down for an SX today.

Did you put a deposit down on one that had an allocation in KFOS? the 30-60 day window I am quoting is for units accepted in KFOS. For example - I put a deposit down on one in January and it was just accepted into KFOS last week. Now my 30-60 day window starts.

Was it at the dealer you mentioned earlier? Your experience?
