Yeah, I knew it wasn't your order because it's nightfall. But, yes, you need to call Ed Voyles - the dealership on the window sticker and ask them about the VIN. Ed Voyles of Chamblee apparently has lower markups. Strange. Just FYI.

When you see a VIN of interest, just reach out to that dealer directly and inquire about it. Don't mention Failcat.

How is it working with Gossett? They don’t seem interested in working with me. I live an hour away and go to gossett to service my current vehicle (Audi). But their Kia dealership seems clueless... probably just the guy I was working with.

Learning so much here. How does a nightfall tell you that it's not a customer order? Is it because there hasn't been enough time in between when Kia started accepting customer orders for nightfalls? I'm sure it's buried in here somewhere, but what's the turn time from order placement to vin creation?

Yes, lots to learn. Correct, no customer sold orders could have been placed for Nightfalls that are en route now. Kia dumped those on dealerships quickly, and dealerships responded in kind with large markups. Some people got lucky by buying an inbound unit right away.

Anyway, some dealerships will take orders. But it can be anywhere from 1-6 months before VIN creation and then up to another month for delivery.

Someone wrote a good thread in the How To Buy section - 3 ways to buy - that's a good summary of situation right now. If you are in a hurry, expect to pay a markup, but you can use Failcat to help you locate vehicles of interest and then contact the dealership.

Did the dealer update you and say 7/23 too ?? I have a deposit on one at that location that is supposed to be there 7/24. Second try at this. Other dealership kept pushing, then the colors changed. Waiting is stressful!!!

There are some funny examples in a different thread, but I would just ask about a particular VIN. They will look it up and see it's
inbound. No need to reveal source - not their business. Just say Internet. ("It's 5G Bro." - one of my favorites from here.) Anyway, many will be pre-sold orders... but many Nightfalls likely won't be pre-sold right now.
