• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Analog and digital speed display not working while vehicle is moving. Turned off car and locked it then I unlocked car and turned ON engine and went for a short drive, vehicle is still not registering speed. Will be visiting KIA dealership. Stay tuned for updates.
Type: Canadian Telluride SX model
Mileage: 8900km

After 30mins while the car was locked in a parking lot, the speedometer is working again.

I just had this same problem today. Anyone else? I haven't let it sit and tried it again, yet. Dcsna, any other updates?

It’s been working since my last update. No further issues to report

I’m experiencing this now, too!! Trying the park and pick method. Hoping it’s a fluke but will be having this looked at soon!

Happened to us on our first lengthy drive in Hellie. Has never happened again and we just passed 10K miles.

Happened to me at around 13,000KM. Stopped at a gas station, for a washroom break. Stopped the engine, but did not lock the doors. When I started to drive away, noticed the speedometer and HUD both were showing 0Km/h while I am driving. Restarted the engine did not work. I need to shut off the engine, lock, unlock then start the engine.

Happened to me today with a little under 10K miles. Turned it off and back on with same result. Turned it off and locked it, waited 30 minutes and it is working again. Dealership stated there are no recalls or updates as of yet and if/when it happens again, bring it in while it is experiencing the issue so they can troubleshoot it! So no solution just a workaround!

My Telluride did this today. Digital/analog both showing 0 mph. Stopped, parked, got out and locked. Came back about 15 minutes later cranked up took off and speedometers showed correct speed.
Vehicle has 8600 miles. I'll probably call dealer and let them know but sounds like no known fix. Yet.
Still love it anyway!!!

Same issue with Speedometer. To add. My issue went a little further. Went to drive to store battery was completely dead. Charged it up to where it would start and found nothing left on or no doors open. So no reason the battery should have died. Drove to store and noticed no reading on either speedometer. Also none of the driver assist warnings or corrections were working either. Lane departure for sure cause that's an easy one to test. Only 564 miles on my AWD S model. Super weird. Called dealership and no help there. Also can't take it in because of Covid19.

Just experienced the same issue... reading on speedometer stuck at zero. 7300 miles.

Having a little different issue. Rather than speedometer showing 0. It shows doing 140 mph going down the road and 80 mph when stopped. Going to dealer tomorrow. Will update

Went to the dealer today. Luckily found an issue. Service tech noticed that speedometer needle moved fine below 60 mph. But above 60 it had a backward tick. Like the second hand of an old clock. So they called Kia. Ordered a new cluster. Will be here........sometime?

Forgot to add...EX with 5000 miles

Speedometer stopped working for us. Veh has 9,000 miles. Frustrating

My SX has 13,000 miles. About two months ago started driving and noticed that’s the speedometer, tach, gas, heat, and HUD not working.

Was driving to dealership when cluster started working again.

Has happened 2-3 times since (latest was today).

The displays always start functioning correctly every time after driving about one mile.

Will notify dealership just to get the problem noted before warranty runs out.

I'm experiencing this issue now, too. But my instrument cluster stopped working and it's been a couple of days with no luck of it coming back at all. I'm dropping it off at Kia service now. Hopefully they give me a loaner because my odometer isn't even past 1,000. I just bought this last month.

Update on mine: dealer took apart the dash, unplugged the dash instrument cluster, put some dielectric grease in there and plugged it back in. Works great now. Hope it stays that way.

I’m @ about 8,767 miles. Speedometer not working & lane assist not working. I stopped & turned engine off & got out & back in. Still not working. I’m letting it sit for a while now then I’ll try again. Dealership is closed today but I’ll be calling tomorrow for sure.

I had the same issue today. Both digital read out and speedometer showing 0 when driving. Stopped and cycled through stop/ start twice. Did not resolve the problem. I am just over 700 miles. Did you have any luck with the dealer diagnosing yours?
