Hi there. I could really use some help. I posted not too long ago about building and ordering in March only to be told 2 SX’s are arriving 8/3 (neither of which are built the way I asked).
Thanks to the knowledge of all of you I learned they are just allocated vehicles. After much thought I decided between the 2 I’d go with the SWP because it had the prestige package and I can add crossbars and towing.
Well... I reached out to the dealer, yesterday and they said they “hoped” they’d be delivered soon.
I checked their page and it looks like they have a few listed as coming soon but not the SWP.
Is there a way to find out if it was delivered?
I will literally cry if they sell this to someone else.

I can't really help you with knowing if the vehicles have been delivered. However, base on the VIN # and when the SWP showed up in failcat, it has got to be close if not there already. If it were me and I lived close enough, I would drive down to the dealership today and ask to speak to the sales manager. I would not work this via emails, texts, and phone calls. If you are now committed to the SWP, make sure the sales manager knows that and you get get something from him/her securing the vehicle. Please understand that many people are calling dealerships trying to find vehicles that are not spoken for. They are putting down deposits and securing sight unseen. If you didn't commit to one of these when first offered, they could be spoken for by now. I hope that is not the case for you. Good Luck!!!!

I was told by the sales manager that due to the way this has gone down that I would have my choice and my name is on both of them. I’m trying to have faith. If this falls through I am very open to flying somewhere and driving one home. I haven’t really left the house in 5 months and Vermont doesn’t have very many options.

I would add that other salespeople could have sold the cars without your salesperson knowing. It happened to me and my salesperson told me immediately and apologetically as I was putting a deposit to secure it.

I would add that other salespeople could have sold the cars without your salesperson knowing. It happened to me and my salesperson told me immediately and apologetically as I was putting a deposit to secure it.

However, I ordered this after the world shut down and was told 6-8 weeks. I hate to sound like a brat complaining of first world problems but if I conducted my business with such piss poor communication I would’ve been unemployed long ago. In a weird sort of way I find comfort reading posts here, knowing I’m not alone.

I know how you feel. There is no excuse for not keeping you updated. A short email or a text, even automated. Or a web page Where you can go to get your status.
Know that you are not alone. The dealers on this site are the exception. They have been invaluable in educating and informing us.
The traditional car dealer model must evolve or it will go the way of the dodo.
