• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Some of us don't have unlimited data on our phones and don't want to use it all up on using Google maps or waze if we don't' have to. Not looking for fancy, looking for functional.

Just a heads up you can download maps in google maps for offline use. You just set the area you want, or the entire state you want and it will download so it doesn’t constantly use data when you use maps. I do it all the time. It will refresh every once in a while to get the latest data.

I had to go in for my first oil change anyway, so I asked the dealer to do any map / software updates.
The statement of work says there weren't any updates available....

In a way I'm surprised, yet I'm not since that'd require the update to get sent to every single dealership via jump drive since there's no download option right now.

Don’t you hit me with logic! 🤣

So we keeping this post alive or we now gonna need to make 2020 Update 2?

Yeah, by the time the update is fixed, they will say "Limited to the newer 2021 model"

Yep ... still nothing at update.kia.com ... wonder if this will ever be available.

Has that site ever had anything for other cars in the past ? Not sure what the point of it is since they use mapnsoft for updates.

seems that updates.kia.com is supposed to provide a way to download the updates for free where as mapnsoft.com is used to buy usb sticks / sd cards containing the update files. Problem is that updates.kia.com is broken in a number of ways:

The link on update.kia.com to download their navigation updater software is broken -- though you can find working links on reddit and other kia forums
Then, while you should be able to use your kia owners account login to find your vehicle and make sure you get the correct version, this doesnt work either -- but you can get around this and use the software without logging in.

some people seem to think all of this will be fixed as part of the process for coming out with version 14.5...guess we will have to wait and see.

I was able to download an update for the 2020 Telluride yesterday using update.kia.com/navigation updater that appears to be version NAM.13.47.44.680.201, which is an update from what i got from the factory since i didnt want to pay for the update from mapnsoft, but i havent had a chance to plug it into the car yet and test it out.

Ok this is interesting, felt like looking into this, google chrome did an amazing job of translating into english, at least enough to just get the installer downloaded in english for the US, apparently. Got it installed, the MapnSoft login doesn't work but didn't try my UVO since logining in tripped my malware/anti-virus shield saying the program contained a trojan ransomware, might be a false positive since the log showed it trying to save the login info to the setting files, there's a guest login that works without any info, looks like you can ignore the search by model/software just select the telluride from the bottom menu. Download took a few minutes, about 23GB. Luckily I have the Kia ver14 USB and started to do comparisons, also just learned by this the Telluride internal code is ON, and things are interesting::
Here's a file list of the download
1598207787449.png

Here's the ON (Telluride) files I isolated from the USB since it contains updates for the full Kia line::
1598207931197.png

File names show the download is a newer version from USB, and the the quick package file is larger from the download.
Also compared the navi_backup tars, the download also is about .2GBs bigger.

Here's the information from the Tarlist from download::

@VERSION:NAM.13.41.42.660.202

DRK if you have a chance to screenshot the SW info screen on your car? I'm wondering if you stumbled on 14.5 just by chance. And if not what's this version and what changes does it have, could be possible alpha/beta build before realease?

I did, i posted the 2 version in my post for comparison, but also just realized @DRK didn't say if they did the update or not. @Dla369 if you're willing to install this you are far more braver than I am lol.

sorry i missed that.

since mapnsoft says mid-August for version 14.5 -- and its already mid-august -- i'm going to wait a bit longer to see if they do come out with a more official download (rather than having to download the updater software from a different country's site etc). One issue is that I don't have the version 14 usb to go back to if it causes a problem...

I chose 'General' update rather 'Quick' update. I don't know what's the difference between them.
Here are the pictures for system info and update steps.

1. System Info before update.

2. Started update and took about 2 hours 30 minutes for Map Update. After map update. The following screen popped up. All the same versions are same as before update.
Looked like the only map data updated, not software. Clicked update button again for software update.

3. After about 10 minutes then the completion message popped up.

I'd update to the 14.0 because newer version is usually delayed than original schedule and defects and bugs can be found after the release, just like 14.0 in May.

Edit: Corrected the version to 14.0 from 14.5 in my comment. I was confused.
