• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I emailed the folks at Map N Soft to inquire when the 2021 would receive an update since the Software/Firmware/Map versions are quite behind the 2020. Here is the response I got:

"Unfortunately your vehicle's update will not be added into our systems until October. You will however be given a free download or a shipped media option for $25 plus the shipping costs."

So those of you with a 2021, keep an eye out around the October time frame for an update! Just thought I'd pass it along.

If the “free download” option for 2020 is any indicator of what is to come for 2021, I wouldn’t hold my breath for that.

Fingers are crossed for wide-screen. Right now a good 1/3 of the screen on the right just displays the AA logo.

Ah, that would be great! Assuming this is more of an Android Auto thing than Kia (or both or just Kia)? Also, anyone know about wireless Android Auto? I saw a few bread crumbs of people trying or with a type of plug in adapter. Anyone test this?

I wouldn’t hold your breath for too long waiting for that, but it would be nice. The good news is the 14.0 update from this spring added split screen support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so at least that right 1/3 of the screen doesn’t go wasted for Android users.

I’ve yet to see any sort of adapter that enables wireless Android Auto in the way that the CarPlay2Air dongle enables wireless CarPlay for iPhone users.

I’d love to be proven wrong, but I’ve searched long and far and have come up empty so far.

I do use the CarPlay2Air daily with my main device (an iPhone) and it works great. Although it isn’t perfect, the massive gain in convenience outweighs any minor niggles that I have.

Wait, cars are still leaving the factory with the old firmware? Also think the 2020 only had 1 or 2 updates since launch, 14.5 is slated for mid August, and I didn't hear any changes to the infotainment systems for 2021 so I'd imagine it's the same head unit. Also wondering if the aspect ratio might be an issue to going full screen AA, the current quality already is somewhat hazy and dull. so implementing it to widescreen might just cause artifact stretching making things look awkward.

I was surprised to hear this as well. When I was detailing split screen Android Auto in another thread last month, someone with a new 2021 said they didn’t have that option and their versions were all old.

Android Auto

I never would have guessed that given this new software version was first made available at the end of April.

Pretty sure headunits are the same. Its just the website doesn’t have the 2021 MY for the Telly available as an option to choose yet.

The last update was released in mid April, didn't MY2021s get released only a several weeks ago? maybe June the earliest? What's your firmware/map version, the most current should be NAM.13.41.41.XXX, I'd figure those leaving the factory since May have that loaded so there be no reason to have the 2021 Telluride on the update page yet.

I went to MapNSoft but it says no update currently available... how can I download it ? I want the android split screen !!!

If you have a 2021, go into your settings -> device connections -> Android Auto
I think that's where setting to enable split screen is.
Think same menu but under CarPlay gives you the option to split screen on that device mirror app.

If you have a 2020, you have to wait for the new 14.5 update to release, or contact dealers to see if they have the ver14 update available.

As I found out last month (and mentioned a few comments ago), having a 2021 Telluride ≠ having the newest software. I obviously don’t know if they’ve actually switched over to the updated software yet, but at the very minimum, several 2021 owners here have reported not being on the latest software. I’m assuming that means all or most 2021 models are (oddly enough) still on the old software at this point.

Wow really? Actually how is it I'm surprised, no company ever does tech right they tend to screw it up, the auto industry especially. I guess for now best bet is giving a call to dealers to see if anyone has the USB to do it. Noticed any suggestions past that brings the ban hammer of mods and admins.

These are the versions on my 2021 SX.

SW Ver: ON.USA.S5W_M.V003.002.190813
Firmware Ver: ON.USA.292.190613.MICOM.D
Map Ver: NAM.12.47.44.510.205.3

Those are the same versions that I had on my UVO system when I got my 2020 Telluride SXP on January 2nd, 2020 with a build date of December 12th, 2019 which is the first image below. After I updated to Map Version 14.0 which came out in late April and May 2020 on June 25th, 2020, I have the different versions which are on the next two images I have attached. I don't understand why the 2021 Tellurides are being produced with the old Map software when you can't get the Version 14.0 anymore on the MapNSoft website because orders are halted with the Version 14.5 coming out sometime in the middle of August 2020. I guess it will be updated when you can order Version 14.5 in August 2020 but I don't understand why Kia wouldn't produce the 2021 Telluride models with at least the Map Version 14.0 software since it came out in May/June 2020.

One logical conclusion is they found a bug in v14 that they plan on fixing in v14.5
