Apologies if this thread exists already. Have had my Telley for about a week - S trim. All great, but I noticed that when I’m driving 30 mph or so, and take my foot off the accelerator, it coasts for a couple of seconds, and then feels like the brakes are being gently applied and it slows down. I disabled the Stop/Go Idle feature and still happens. Anyone else experiencing this - or have any idea if some “feature” is causing this? Many thanks.

Probably just the transmission downshifting? The stop/go idle feature has nothing to do with this - it is only relevant when you are idling in Drive mode - like at a stoplight.

Might still need to break in the vehicle, or make a video and see if it's a problem.

Mess around with the different drive modes and see if the car reacts the same.
 
Yea not familiar with S trim but if you have it in say sport mode, the transmission shift points are harsher for a more "sporty", powerful feeling ride. Throw it in Eco mode and you should be able to coast all the way home!! Lol

I was just thinking about this exact question the other day when my transmission changed to a lower gear as I was coasting to a stop.

I believe it is the car’s computer anticipating you wanting to slow down or come to a stop so it switches to a lower gear for engine braking. It’s supposed to be a safer, more fuel efficient way to coast as well as reduce wear and tear on your engine and braking system. 👍

I've noticed this too, and often wondered if I have some type of transmission problem. I usually drive in Smart mode.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I've never felt the "downshifting" in any previous vehicle.

I’ve seen some manual drivers throw it into neutral as they were slowing down or coasting downhill. Now I realize how it’s a bad thing.

Have you found a way to make this less jarring? Definitely my least favorite thing about the car.
 
Well you’re actually not coasting when the shift lever is in D. Second; just seems like a downshift which is all controlled by a transmission control module (I would assume these vehicles have this).

maybe always keep your foot slightly depressed on the throttle to trick the transmission to anticipate an upshift. Thereby avoiding downshifts all together until you are ready to brake to a complete stop.
 
Thank you for starting this thread. I was wondering if anyone is able to get their car to "coast" in Comfort mode. I was going over this small hill and on the downslope expected the car to coast more than it was. Eventually it did but way after when I expected, when I was almost at the bottom of the hill.

Wondering if maybe I should give Smart mode another try or if it's pretty much the same as Comfort.
 
i have this same issue and i find it incredibly annoying. Sometimes when down shifting and i have to accelerate right then i get a little jerk! it’s the engine braking for me. i wish comfort mode would disable this.... doesn’t matter smart or comfort or sport!
 
I know this is years later but after the June 2024 OTA update, my 2024 SX-Prestige has been doing this and it is really uncomfortable especially on the highway. Take my foot off the gas and immediately starts to decelerate. I've had 3 other Tellurides and never had this happen. Only notes from the update were "performance improvement". I'm ready to try and trade it in after a month which automatically puts me way underwater. Wondering if a future update might fix it.
