• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Show me that person who decided to buy the Honda Pilot over a Telluride because of 1 mpg better fuel economy knowing they would have to use premium gas to even get that advantage mpg. That is right, they don’t exist.

When your desperate to take the champion down, you think of anything to criticize him. Just a natural defense mechanism.

I suggest a special forum feature that replaces the words "MotorBiscuit" with "Hyundai Palisade is Better" every time someone links to one of their articles or posts those words.

Wait times just as long as when it was introduced and ATP increasing. August is on track to set a new high point for the Telluride. Don't think the fuel economy is turning buyers and their pocket books away.

I agree that 1-mpg is not enough to matter much, but I'm not aware of any requirement to use premium in the Pilot (other than towing). Both are rated for full power running on 87 and their mileage ratings were achieved with 87. The actual ratings for AWD versions of each are 19/22/26 for the Pilot and 19/21/24 for the Telluride. The difference is probably due to the cylinder deactivation feature of the Pilot (which has been controversial).

MotorBiscuit is a joke. They are trying to get people to their site by blowing anything and everything up and trying to come across as credible. However they appear to be a for profit negative marketing firm ready to write about anything to the highest bidder. I wonder if these writers have even sat in these vehicles they are writing about.

I would rather spend my time on this forum reading actual testimonials that I feel are more credible. If I want to get lied to I’ll skip MotorBiscuit and jump to the National news or the American Heart Association’s guidance where at least I know I’m being fed a bunch of lies for the public motivated by greed.

My brother-in-law has a new Pilot and I was talking to him about the Telly. He said he would have gotten the Telly instead if he could have found one that he liked. I asked him about MPG and he said he gets about 18, with a mix of mostly local driving but highway also.

My wife has a new pilot. While it’s a nice suv that drives nice, there are too many quirks that she doesn’t like about it. Even she says the Telly is much nicer looking and has more features. We both are patiently waiting for my Telly to be delivered.

For some reason, I read motorbiscuit as mosquito at first.

Quoting from the website:

Compared to rivals such as the 2021 Honda Pilot, which has a combined fuel economy of 22 miles per gallon, the Telluride isn’t too far behind. However, it’s enough of a difference to be noteworthy.

1MPG difference is noteworthy....LOL...total garbage website

No kidding. It seems that 1MPG deficit isn't turning away buyers of this or the Palisade.
I'm hearing actually owners saying they are getting much high MPG on highway than the listed milage. Many are getting 26-28 MPG. You can find these posts with the search key.

If you do mind me asking, is there a source for the data?

MB continues to show that it is a trash publication, making so much out of a 1 mpg difference, and that's rated mpg and not real world.

In Consumer Reports fuel economy testing, they have the Telluride EX pegged at 21 mpg and the Pilot EX-L at 20 mpg.

Either way, really makes no difference.

My Telluride shows 23 mpg over 11k miles of driving, which I'm satisfied with. And, 27 to 31 mpg are usual numbers on highways.

That's very close to what I average with my 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe (24 average with about a 60/40 mix of highway/city)
