Any Dealers in Massachusetts taking 2021 Telluride orders at MSRP with not Market Demand Mark-up?

My wife and I test drove at Commonwealth Kia in Lawrence on Thursday. I had scheduled to drive an EX or SX, but when I got there they only let me drive an LX which was a bit frustrating. They're posting SX models with a 10K "SX Model Surcharge." We were driving a lot of cars back to back so I didn't spend any time discussing what they might take, but they did say the cars weren't sold (one with SX-P, one with Nightfall).

We drove the Palisade right after driving the Telluride and honestly I felt like they were so similar that it'd be really hard to justify a significant pricing difference. We both liked the Kia style a bit better, but no way its work 5K let alone 10K more. Given the crazy supply and pricing on Tellurides I'm honestly leaning towards getting a Palisade instead which I can get at or even below MSRP.

Here's the window sticker with their 10K price adjustment too - interesting tactic.

Call and speak to Brian Byington at Ron Bouchard Kia in Lancaster. As of Friday he had a bunch of Tellurides incoming without names attached to them. They sell at MSRP.

I work for a dealership in this area and we sell them for 5k over sticker, if you guys have any questions then shoot

Hi there. Honest question. Why does your dealership choose to sell for $5K over sticker when there are so many others in the area that sell at MSRP +doc fee at a high volume?

We went in yesterday. While they are selling at MSRP they expect you to finance through their independent bank with rates that are absolutely absurd. We were offered 4.5% on 65 months even before a credit check. We asked if we could bring a check from our bank (DCU is offering 2.25% on 65 months) and they essentially said absolutely not. Essentially you have to finance through their bank. We were told once we finance through their bank and make 3 payments then we are welcome to refinance through our bank. They also expected a $1000 deposit and a credit application filled and ready to submit. Needless to say we walked and drove 30 minutes to Lev Kia in Framingham where we put a deposit on a Dark Moss S AWD for MSRP. Ken Russian played no games, $500 deposit subject to customer approval and test drive w/ whatever incentives/finance specials available to us.

This is interesting. A close friend purchased a Moss/Black SXP from Ron Bouchard Kia 2 weeks ago and I asked him to send me a screenshot of the paperwork. He received the current rebate and 0.9% finance rate for 48 months. Something is certainly off here. I hate to hear of any games being played. And I agree with Ken. He is very straightforward and Lev's process has been painless thus far. I am still awaiting my order to arrive from them.

Did they not offer you kia financing?

We asked, they weren't even willing to fathom offering Kia financing. They said they just don't offer it. We walked out.

That's a shame. I know for a fact Kia financing was used for my friend 2 weeks ago. Again, something sounds off here. Sorry for your bad experience.

FYI Nashua Kia told me today they're looking for 5-15(!) k over msrp. Cazy, but I guess that's where the market is. 🤷‍♂️

Oh no! That’s not good news about Ron Bouchard! If that’s their new normal, then they’re coming off my little list of good dealers to try in New England :cautious:

I don't believe that is their new normal. Sadly, I think it is a just a bad (very bad) experience. I was sent a copy of a friend's paperwork from their SXP purchase a few weeks ago and it is all in order. MSRP, $499 doc fee and 0.9% for 48 months. Hopefully the good experiences outweigh the bad.

Yikes!! That is about the highest I have heard. I have seen 6K at Wagner in Shrewsbury and 5K at Cape Kia.

I am in SoCal and went in ready to buy an EX. I went in thinking that it would be MSRP since they had over 80 on the lot according to their website. They asked for $12k over sticker. I said MSRP. They came back with $6K over MSRP. I said $500 over MSRP just so they could say they sold for more than MSRP. They turned me down so I walked.
I told them to call me when they're ready to sell me a car at my asking price. We'll see what happens.

Whatever you do, do NOT go to Kia of Norwood - Dan O’Brien.

I bought mine at Kia of Attleboro. Ordered what I wanted, got MSRP.

I too can categorically cite that my Dan O’Brian dealership experience was disgusting. Unprofessional, non-transparent and added nearly $10K added markup to MSRP. As I stated to the sales manager who dared to call me after I walked out of his showroom, I’ll take every opportunity for the rest of my life to share that opinion...

Wow. Thanks for this. I don’t think anybody on this forum is headed to Dan O’Brian. SO much bad news on here about them.
