• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anybody know if the rear 12v socket in the cargo area stays live all the time or only when the vehicle is on?

I already posted a similar thread and never got a response from anyone. I'm guessing it got lost in the shuffle so I figured I'd try it here. This section doesn't see much action and I guess it's a specification.

I have a plug-in air freshener in the rear most socket and it is only active when accessory is on or of course when vehicle is on. No power sockets stay on when the vehicle is off with the exception of the center USB. It stays on some time after the vehicle is shut off.

Thanks! That's what I figured. I may use a 12v refrigerator from time to time so I was curious.

@NDBlackEX no problem!

There are portable power packs (Jackery, Yeti) that can be charged while the vehicle is 'on' and then used to run the 12v fridge when the vehicle is off.
Yeah, I was probably going to go that route anyway just to avoid drawing down the battery too much if I was going to be stopped somewhere for a while. But, if I only planned to stop for 15-30 minutes occasionally, it would have been nice not to have to mess with it.

I was wondering about this because I’d like to keep a small rechargeable cordless car vac in the back. But I wouldn’t want it drawing from the battery while parked. Thanks for the info (y)
