Order to delivery time

Vin not showing up in failcat for me yet, my dealer hasn't had a vehicle show up on there in 8 days now. That seems kinda odd.

This weekend I did a data comparison for 2020 with the old google doc sheet that also pulled in VINs. When I did - I found nearly 1,900 VIN's between January and June that were not in the Failcat data that were US produced units. So - it could be that Failcat isn't always pulling all the data from KIA's server. Unfortunately the google doc file hasn't been updated since June.

Yeah, I saw that doc and your data. Interesting. The only reason I'm not too worried is that I used the url that failcat calls for the window stickers, except I replaced the end of the url with my vin I was given and it pulls up the window sticker. So I know it's a legit vin # going to my dealer with my specifications.

I got my VIN from my dealer a couple days before it showed in failcat. Are the last four of your VIN higher than 9256?

Well at least you were able to get the window sticker to confirm. It was fun to see mine pop in failcat after looking at it for months, but really once I had the VIN, it didn't really even matter.

Well at least you were able to get the window sticker to confirm. It was fun to see mine pop in failcat after looking at it for months, but really once I had the VIN, it didn't really even matter.

I felt the same - got the VIN about a day or two before it showed up in failcat, and while it was cool to see it, at that point it didn't matter. It was cool, however, to see my car pop up in the inventory for Muncie on the Kia site. That happened about a day after it actually arrived at the dealer.

Wow, so for you they received the car only ~10 days after you got the VIN? One can hope!

I honestly think I got really lucky in a couple different aspects, brought about by switching to Nightfall (which is something I had wanted even when I initially ordered, I had asked them if the rumored blacked out version was something they thought would be coming anytime soon). I was informed that my order had been accepted by Kia actually a week before August KFOS opened, which leads me to believe I was one of the rare ones accepted by Kia straight out of K-Dealer - and I know I jumped ahead of some of the other November Muncie orders (I had a spreadsheet stalking err tracking other Muncie people's posts), which is not something Muncie would have done themselves knowing how they work. Nightfall definitely helped get it built quicker, that's for sure.

I feel you on the combo rarity, only 8 of my combo shows up in failcat. But it will be nice to not be the plethora of black on black Telluride owners (no offense to them), right?

I was at the dealer yesterday ordering some parts for my telly and the sales manager told me that all October ETA's were most likely move to early 2021. (he was only talking about this specific dealer) I don't know if it applies to other dealers.

Just contacted my dealer and he said its still showing second half of October. He hasn't given me exact dates in the past 3 communications, just the general "second half of October". Seeing everyone else's ETAs shifting back and forth but with exact dates, should I be worried? Or you think my dealer is just giving me a general answer since they are all estimated anyway?

@Tobstertx3 , good call. But i ordered AFTER july 4th, meaning shopping for accessories would have been even more ridiculous! Now for the next holiday, that's a different story

@Tobstertx3 - so, it came back to bite me, as I suspected! I had waited for Labor Day to order the Smartliners. No sales, but I did it anyway. Today they arrived...partly (only the cargo mat arrived even though fedex said 2/2 boxes were delivered). Today was also my ETA for my ride. No sooner did I send off an inquiry to Smartliner did I get a note from my dealer with a pushed back ETA. See?!
