• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Ours went from $1500 to $2400.

Usually have 2 cars but with Telly we now have 3. We have AAA and have been insurance claim free for a long time now at least 10 years on both cars. Seems so high and will probably shop for a new insurance company.

I told them SX and FWD. I can't imagine how much more for a AWD.

I avg 5k miles Wife 12k a year

There was a similar thread around here. My insurance went way down. We have ridgeline, Optima and Telluride S AWD full coverage, 500$ deductable. We took Soul EV plus off and added Telluride. Went down over 200$ a year with Allstate.

I have Progressive with 3 Kias on it, deleted 19 sorento limited and added Telly SX AWD Prestige and my insurance wen down by almost $300 a year.

I just called my Allstate insurance agent and he calculated a increase of 240$ per year... This will be a SX model replacing my 2016 Accord.

How does it go down when u take out a old small car and add a new big car? Cannot understand the logic...

Could be safety discounts. The insurance company may think the other car is more dangerous to drive. May not be entire discount, but it does make a difference.

I thought it was weird too. My agent said all the safety features actually helped. That was the reasoning she gave me. I'm not complaining. 😁 I've had my first payment come out and it was exactly what she quoted over the phone.

The Soul EV plus was a 2016. The Optima is 17, and the ridgeline is an 2011.

Went up by about 1k a year.

I replaced a 2010 Land Rover LR4 and insurance went down by about $40/yr

Went from 09 pilot to this. Insurance didn’t increase at all. I’m assuming due to increased safety things on newer vehicles.

Ours will be dropping $22 per month going from 2016 Explorer Limited through Farmers. Pleasantly surprised.

I also replaced an 09 Pilot w/EX/tow package plus $20/month

I believe the competitive is for 2012 and newer vehicles.

Yes that was what our salesman said. However, a couple others from other dealers said the year wouldn’t matter. My guess is they just wanted us to come into their store.

My insurance with State Farm basically stayed the same, I traded in a 2016 Ford Focus and expected to see a huge increase because of the cost of the new car, but he agent said that all the safety features kept the cost down. By the way, I bought an EX

I'm with State Farm and I replaced a ford focus with a Telluride EX. Increase was minimal, $60 per year

Removed a 2008 Ford F-150 4 door, added the Telluride SX Awd, went down a lot. We also changed companies when we got the Telluride and now use progressive due to the great rate. No one can compete with them. We pay $72 a month for full top coverage.

So we didn't get rid of a car, just added to the stable. With Allstate in Texas, the Telluride costs us about $177 more per year than our 2007 Avalanche did, however it is about $45 per year less than my 2013 Camaro SS.
