I wish I had found this forum early on this summer. I think it would have saved me a great deal of frustration and heartache. I thought I had picked a horrendous dealership to work with, but it sounds like they all are striving to meet the stereotype of get the money, lie if you have to, excel at lack of communication. I placed my order on 5/10/20, was given 4 different eta dates over the next 4 months. I sat on hold on average an hour and half every time I called to follow up on my car. I was passed off from GM after GM (lots of GM's at this place). I was threatened when I said I was thinking of backing out. I was given a
VIN # and told it would be in the next week, then I was told 2 weeks later that they had transposed a number and the delivery was for someone that had ordered in January. Ignorant me, I didn't know you could track the
VIN. I was finally told it was coming in 9/2/20. Instead of waiting for the phone call I would never receive, my husband showed up at the dealership on the 2nd and asked to see the car!! I picked up my car on 9/3/20. Now I'm afraid that I might have gotten someone else's car, someone who had been waiting even longer than me. Is there a way I can make sure that my
VIN was really for me? I understand there is nothing I can do about it now if it wasn't, but I would feel better about the whole thing. Thanks.
