I am so glad I found this forum!! I ordered in May and dealer has no information, except the order was sent. So I have several questions for the experts! I see some of you have the VIN number before you have your car. How do you get those? When you look on failcat, are those the dates the car comes into the lot, or being produced? Are those cars already spoken for, or how would you know? Thanks all!

So Stephen I reached out to my dealer to check status and he replied that the car should be here before the end of the week and expects to have me wrapped up by weeks end. I'm guessing that VIN# 5XYP5DHC9MG120580 you looked up for me is slated for me (under a different name) but I sure hope they are not giving me someone else's car and then pushing that person further down the line. Do you mind checking on where it is in the transit process to the dealer?

This unfortunately has been THE WORST dealer experience I've ever had buying a car where they lost my order from early February (probably in the change over to 2021), didn't communicate with me (even after I patiently waited more than four months to even reach out to them), and then when I did reach out to them for a status they would not return my calls or emails. It took me going into the dealer to see what was up, having the sales manager flippantly tell me "well I can just give you your money back" when I complained they haven't been communicating with me, and a letter to the Chief Operating Officer of the auto group to get to this point.

It's sad but I hope this week it will finally be over and I can go on my way with a funny or not so funny story to tell.
