If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello, our new Telluride arrived at the dealership. The question arose about if we wanted an extended warranty.
Instead of this being from Kia, it was from NAE National Auto Experts. Located in Strongsville, Ohio. They have a D- rating at the Better Business Bureau and lots of bad reviews.
Asked why they weren't offering the extended warranty from Kia, answer was they had too many problems with it.
How many of you have bought an extended warranty and who from? Are you happy with it?
Any other information a new owner should have?
Many thanks, Quinsta

That's not good if a KIA dealer is saying the KIA warranty is bad. I'll bet they have a higher profit margin for the dealer.

If it's like the Toyota and Mazda, you can buy the mfr warranty anytime while the vehicle still has the original one. If so, just wait until that expires and see how your build is doing. But, double check this first!

I declined everything except gap. ALL of it was rando 3rd party nonsense

Aww, very well then. I'm unsure if I would trust a D rated insurance company. After a breakdown/tow, the last thing you want is to fight with them.

Call around to other KIA dealers and see if they will offer it to you. Can't hurt to ask. ;) Some will even chat online.

Did you price check the gap insurance with your regular car insurance? I know I know, I don't want to be a Debbie downer. But for others going forward, our insurance thru Costco is charging us $18/per 6 months for gap insurmace. Or maybe it was $25/6 months?? I'm forgetting. Regardless, when I was getting the quote, it was a no brainer option.

The Dealer more then likely has a reinsurance program with that company and finance isn’t allowed to sell the Kia coverage. I would stay away from that company since in a lot of cases with the dealer owned program the dealer can decline the work on the car so they don’t take a hit on their program. I have worked for two other captive finance companies so I have dealt with this for numerous years. The Kia warranty is underwritten by fidelity JMA and they do pay their claims unless it’s an issue caused by the customer.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. :)

I'm glad I read this. I was offered an extended warranty as well and now I know to ask who it is through!
