  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Alright, so, I'm one of the 50%ers on here that's a soon-to-be owner. Been browsing the forum and participating just a tad. As I never really understood introducing yourself in a virtual space that people don't really give a care about, I'm finally getting around to doing this.

We're a family of 2.5 and we're replacing a '14 Equinox. Though we love the car, we have found that air doesn't quite circulate to the back passengers as well as we'd like. Our infant was/is constantly warm back there and we've used a little fan above the car seat to help keep LO cool. It's become a safety thing. Of course, we could purchase a $40 Noggle or something like that, but that would take away from the fun of a $40,000 new car purchase, right? So anyway, here we are.

Upon researching, vehicles that were in our sights were the Traverse, Acadia, Palisade, and the Telluride. I don't think we need to guess what vehicle we decided on, but I'll give a hint that it didn't end up being a GM vehicle. There were reasons we didn't choose the other ones, and I've posted them in the forum since joining. Once we decided on the Telly, we hunted dealers within a 3-4 hour radius.

We settled on a dealer within a 2hr drive from here that sells at MSRP. Doc fee is steep, exposing a potential dealer markup / profit margin, but I'm OK with the route we're going. Especially given that I'll receive a military incentive and we're tax free, saving us ~$3k on the purchase.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! :)

Yes, I think second and third row vents in the headliner/roof are a must for family vehicles, especially if you have babies. The new Sorento doesn’t have this feature, which is a disappointment.

@alexdrums , I totally agree. When we bought the ‘Nox, we figured it would be a good family starter vehicle. It has. It’s been a great one! With just that one exception. Something we didn’t even think about. An SUV with standard seating. Just didn’t even think it’d matter. Adult Passengers would say it would get warm back there but until we had the little one, we just always brushed it off.

I’ve never looked at a Sorento before. Saw the telluride and fell in love with it. Don’t know if I am or was missing out but after you saying that, then we would have passed anyway

Yes, I rented a Equinox for an east coast trip during the Fall a couple of years ago, and had a blast driving it on the backcountry roads of upstate New York. I’ve never bought GM, but the Equinox had me thinking twice.
Really good vehicle...except for the vents...ha ha!

Be still my heart ❤️,,, that is one gorgeous Telluride,, the paint is very beautiful and given time of day or the lighting, sort of morph’s into a unique show stopper! Great pictures! 👏😎

Thank you thank you!
It definitely is a beautiful color in the sun! When not in the sun, it still has a leg up on ebony black being metallic.
