If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone buy an extended warranty on the Telluride?

I’m probably in the minority, on this forum at least, but I’ll most likely not be buying an extended warranty. To me, it’s pure profit for the dealers. That said, I fully understand the argument of all the things that could go wrong and peace of mind (assuming what ever goes wrong is covered in full). I’d rather take my chances and feel that several things outside of the normal warranty would have to go wrong for it to be cost-effective.

For me at least, since I won’t hit the mileage cap before the 10 years, that’s $148 a year to have an extended warranty with no deductible. Chump change for peace of mind.

I just bought a 2021 telluride sx FULLY LOADED so everyone says not to buy the extended warranty and just take a chance?
That’s what I say.

I don't know where you live but mine has already come in handy with a nail/screw in my tire. Call over to Jason and get the tire and wheel they sell, well worth it!!!! (covers more than just tire and wheel)

Discount tire will patch your tire for free, even your stock telluride tires. Not with $1.000 in in my opinion.

Just a head unit going bad (only covered for 3/36) would cover the cost of the warranty and then some. I got it for peace of mind knowing that the electronics are now covered for as long as the power train is. Will I need it? Maybe not, but until time travel has become mainstream, I'd rather not take my chances.

That's great, will they replace a wheel or a tire? Dents or scratches?

This might be a stupid question but do I have to buy the warranty from the same place I bought my Telly? I just put a large deposit on an sxp nightfall that’s slated to be coming late next week. I am quite sure the warranty they will offer at pickup will be about 3000. I saw that the Muncie orders got a 1500 warranty. So can I shop around for the warranty? How does that work?

Not a stupid question. And no as long as it is recognized by other dealers like the products @Jason Fox and Kia Muncie sells it can be from any dealership

Yes, they will sell you the warranty even if you purchased the vehicle elsewhere.

absolutely!! I got my tire and wheel warranty there (HIGHLY recommend) :-) They will sell you anything you need.

FYI. I just picked up out T on Saturday and on Friday I emailed the GM of the dealership and informed him that I was firm on not buying and extended warranties, service plans or anything that was not listed on the MSRP sticker. I told him I wanted to spend as little time at the dealership as necessary to sign the required paperwork .
He said he would pass on the information and when we arrived I inspected the T and waited about 5 minutes before being brought to the finance manager. About 10 minutes later we were out the door and headed home. Fantastic!

I highly recommend @Jason Fox and Craig from Muncie. We got our warranty from them on our 2020 (purchased vehicle elsewhere)
Easy transaction, we will be buying both a 2021 Telluride and another warranty from them

I paid $1,400 for the extended warranty - down from 2K. As stated by others the electronics are not covered all 100,000 miles. Being a 1st year production I felt the need to buy. I usually do not go for extended warranty. I'm at 25,000 miles with no issues regarding electronics. So far I'm very happy with the Telluride.

Ok, after questioning and researching as a new buyer in this advanced age of automotive electronics, I feel it is misleading and confusing for buyers here to restate the misnomer that the KIA warranty only covers electronics for 3/36. It is the audio, entertainment and navigation systems that are limited, not vehicle electronics. Vehicle electronics cover a plethora of components in modern cars. Could we make an effort to change that claim to entertainment /nav instead of electronics? There are so many electronics on the Telly, but if someone is a 5 year owner, they shouldn’t be concerned with that specific concern. I’m a 10 year owner, and will likely consider an extended warranty, but it was very concerning to me that these “electronics” were excluded from the bumper to bumper and not disclosed. Not excluded.
