If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I don’t know if anyone has said this but I would like to see parking sensors in the front for all the models. also they need to update the entertainment system with digital screens. Borrow some new tech from the Genesis. Raise the SUV up by 3 inches. Put 20’s on the EX models Install a front camera in the front for EX and SX models. And fog lights to the EX and SX. LED headlights on all models. Add home link to all models. Fix the app!

Nice ideas. And i def agree the app truly sucks!!! It’s slow and takes forever for remote start to work.

Is it because the vehicle doesn’t actually tow what they say it does without the user to do something “extra?”

Palisade and the Tellurides sold in other countries (Canada and UAE) don't have the self leveling suspension marketed as a towing benefit. In reality the shocks only active when weight (cargo or passengers) are inside the rear of the Telluride. So the self leveling suspension is a convenience or comfort feature. You can buy the Tow Option and still get the same towing capacity. Marketing the suspension as a towing benefit is very misleading.

Tow Option is MSRP $475: Hitch with harness, 500lb max tongue weight, 5,000 lbs max capacity
Tow Package is MSRP $795: It's just the Tow Option with self leveling suspension added, 500lb max tongue weight, 5,000 lbs max capacity

I see what you’re saying. I didn’t think of it as a marketing mislead. But for the benefit of even taking road trips and having heavy luggage and things in the back of the vehicle...the self leveling would help so the rear end isn’t sagging.

We're planning to 4200-4400 pounds. What extras do we need to do? We have the SXP with towing.

Give this a read: If you purchased the Tow Package please read this . . .

You need a brake controller (wired or wireless) and a weight distribution system for your trailer and an anti-sway bar.

Oh. Yea, planning for both those cause...that's pretty much a given. I thought you were talking about supplementing/bypassing the integrated transmission/engine cooler or something. :)

Thanks for clarifying, it's much appreciated. Want to take care of Groot.

Cool. The concern is that someone new to towing buys a 2021 or 2022 Telluride with Tow Package from Kia and innocently believes that means they have what they need and sees the 7-pin connection assuming they can start towing ~4,000 lbs. No brake controller could mean no brakes on the trailer and the Telluride brakes would not be adequate in stopping all the weight and an impending accident. No weight distribution system could result in damage to the suspension or loss of control which could result in an accident. No anti-sway on the trailer could result in loss of control and result in a accident. The shocks might only be a benefit when adding cargo or passengers inside the Telluride.

As for transmission and cooling, With only a Tow Option (not Package) Kia specs say it should be able to handle 5,000 lbs with no additional equipment, so if my suspension, transmission or engine fails as a result from towing, I would expect Kia to honor the warranty, assuming I’m doing everything reasonable to tow properly.

The 22's are still a ways off right? I guess if you place an order now, it seems reasonable they may end up with a 22'. Regardless, I'm glad there's people like you to help keep people safe! It's much appreciated.

Already have a BlueOx MXW0550 Swaypro on my Amazon wishlist. So far, that's my top pick for a WDH, but, open to suggestions. I like that you can backup with the bars still on and that there's less points that need grease compared so some others require it.

I agree. Trailer brakes + WDH + drive slower = doing what one reasonably can to tow correctly, and KIA would have prove I towed incorrectly...or maybe that's wishful thinking. :-) I've seen so many people towing trailers 75mph+, forgetting that swerving around falling objects or stopping quickly if and unsecured load from the trailer in front falls off just isn't the same as with no trailer behind you. That, and most trailer wheel hubs aren't designed for those speeds to be sustained.

I will miss the Chevy Blazer's true 4x4 and ability to crawl up fire access roads on BLM land in 'low' with trailer in tow. Friends always commented about how slow we were moving in 2nd gear (4-6 mph) with higher RPM. However, I won't miss it's poor gas mileage. But, there's nothing like camping at 8000' next to a lake with nearly no one else around.

New Kia logo spied on a prototype of the next gen K7/Cadenza.

So the switch-over should be in the not too distant future.

It's so ridiculous how Kia is holding the telluride from being produced. Which keeps the demand high. I understand a month wait for a new vehicle but some people on here are saying 8 months they've been waiting! That's crazy; and you might as well just wait 1yr and get the next one by that point.

What would you like to see on the new ones? Here's what I'd like to see:

1. Dual side twin pipes
2. More GOT dang horsepower and torque! Better throttle response.
-at least for the SX model. 365hp would do just right :)
3. 1in more legroom in 3rd row seating, 2nd row seats that fold up as well so you have better access to 3rd row.
4. REAL AWD system
5. Bigger/better Infotainment
6. Headlights that turn with direction of steering wheel
7. LARGER glove compartment
8. Clearmotion Suspension
9. Ceramic Brakes
10. 20+ speaker Harman Kardon System with Better Subwoofer (Cadillac has 36 speaker system!)

I do realize these features may increase price--which may make the "reasonable" addendums justified.

otherwise

For heavens sake QUIT MARKING THEM UP! The manufacturer says MSPR then that's the MAX I'm paying. $10k-$15k markup is outrageous folks. Stop paying it.

Let's talk about it!
I agree with everything you said im in the field looking for a Kia Telluride I want all that you mentioned. Hows the AWD system on the KIA Telluride???

Not sure. Mine only has FWD. I’m trying to trade up to an SX. And I’ll make sure to get AWD this time.

Kia doesn't need to borrow tech from Genesis (albeit, it is developed in conjunction with Genesis and Hyundai), as the new Sedona, Sorento and K5 are filled with tech (at least in KDM form, US spec models often get decontented).

Yes.

A few options I'd like to see in the future would be:
  • Dual exhaust, one on each side of vehicle
  • Screen on back of front row head rests (packaged with prestige)
  • A few more color options (their marketing promo of the orange/black telluride looks nice)
  • Full front to mid-row sun/moon roof

Why not dual exhaust with the quad tip look? Their website says entertainment package coming soon. So you’ll get those TVs.
