If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Looking for advice on extended warranties with respect to Tellurides. It's too soon to have good data on how well they will hold up. My dealer is offering 10year/100K mile bumper to bumper warranty with roadside assistance, rental car, trip interruption insurance, the whole nine yards for $2000. Deal, or no deal?

No Deal. Contact Kia of Muncie $1480 for the same term if I remember correctly.

What they said.. if they won't come down to meet Muncie's price, then just get it from Muncie after the fact. You have up to 5000 miles to decide.

Thanks! Does the warranty they offer come from Kia, or is it a 3rd party contract?

It's through Fidelity technically. Here is the warranty info.

Thanks very much! So this all begs the question, what's the general opinion on this forum of this warranty at this price?

You won't find a cheaper extended warranty/service contract that's worth anything. Muncie has a great reputation on this site for treating people right. I will be purchasing the warranty when I pick up my vehicle this weekend, so while I cannot attest to how the claims/warranty honoring process is, I don't have any qualms about purchasing.

Thanks again! Enjoy your new Telluride. I'm sure you will!

We also have a 10 year 125,000 mile warranty for $1850
Thanks! In my case the number of miles isn't an issue. The SUV this one replaces was driven less than 3000 miles per year. If it wasn't for the fact that I don't have a garage space for it so it has to sit outside in the weather, I wouldn't consider an extended warranty at all. It's longevity of rubber parts and electronics that concern me.

Once I read the small print and did some research on Fidelity/Courtesy, I decided not to go with this extended warranty. Do your due diligence.

I would try negotiating with your finance guy first. Tell them what you want to pay. 60% of the time, it works everytime.

Mind sharing what you found, thoughts?

It’s an exclusionary policy, and doesn’t really leave that much out. There has been a lot of due diligence done on this forum regarding this policy, and the general consensus is that it’s the best one out there, particularly when covering electronics for 10 years vs the standard 3 years.
I’m also interested in what fine print you found that caused you to not go with it.

Maybe this?

Interesting tidbit about only being honored at select dealerships. I have read it is honored at all licensed KIA dealerships. I’m not terribly concerned, still going to purchase it, it seems like a great bargain for my needs.

Any chance you'd summarize what you found inadequate or disconcerting about this policy. At $1500 for essentially 5 years (years 6-10, since years 1-5 are covered by the new car warranty), that comes to only $300 per year. If it covered just one meaningful repair you'd probably break even.
