Towing a boat with a Telluride

Considering a Telluride to tow a 2700# boat with 1100# trailer. We would mostly use it for local trips (about 20 miles), but we would also do some long family trips from 500-1,000 miles.

Can anybody share their experience using the Telluride to tow on long trips: It would be great to hear from boat owners.

Advice and suggestions are very welcome.
