• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi folks,
So I can't believe this happened, but three weeks into purchasing a Black Copper SX-P, parking into a tight garage I've done a billion times, somehow I misjudged and scrap the wheel well area on a white stucco wall. No dents just a very annoying white scrap.

This is definitely not my forte and really have never done anything about scraps etc on previous vehicle so I was wondering what you folks who have dealt with this on a Telluride would do. I know there are touch-up paints available on the KIA site but wasn't sure if that was the proper tactic to use in this situation. Thanks for all tips/advice. Thanks!

Can you pls post some pics for reference

Agreed, would need pics to diagnose but rubbing compound and polish removes most scrapes if the paint isn't damaged. If it is then would need to be repaired professionally with a repaint.

Sorry folks, thought I had attached. Here you go!

Darn..Not totally knowing what occurs in a repaint, does it have to be the whole side or can it be spot repainted?

they can blend in the panel but you'll need the fender and front bumper done which requires taking the bumper off , I'm going to say $2000 ( at least that's what it would cost here in Vancouver ) conversely you could take it to vinyl shop and get all 4 wheel arches wrapped to the crease line , if done in gloss black it would look fine maybe even better and I would say it would cost no more than $500 .......................

@geddy1001 ,
it's nothing. polish with abrasive, 90% of scratches will go away. or alternatively, stain painting, local repair. it is not cheap, as it is very laborious, but in this case only the place of scratches is painted.

Thanks folks! Definitely alot to think about. I appreciate the input!

Like others have stated that damage would require some professional attention. If you decide not to pay out of pocket or put in an insurance claim right now, for under $50 you could make it look a hell of a lot better and protect the exposed metal on the painted surfaces. Use the rubbing compound, paint pen, and wax/polish/sealant method for a quick fix (check youtube.)
That plastic trim is lost imo tho, I would not try to repair that but would replace it. If not maybe clean it up with a good vinyl/trim cleaner and protectant. GL 👍
