  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Y’all. She’s here. I was expecting her next week but got a surprise call yesterday that she showed up a week early! I waited 369 days start to finish. I am so happy. (And relieved that this drama is over.) I look forward to moving on from posting about trying to figure out when my car will come, to being able to post questions about all these new fun features I’m going to need to learn how to use! This morning I added a little something to the “tip jars” of the fine folks who work on this forum, failcat, and those who were so helpful in looking up VINs, etc. I really appreciate all the wonderful information I’ve learned on this forum! Cheers!
(Adding a picture- even though it’s gloomy here, my unicorn is still a beauty!)

Congratulations, she is beautiful! I’m glad to see all of you who’ve been waiting so long to finally get your Telly. Enjoy it. I look forward to getting mine in the next few weeks.

Truly a unicorn. Would you do this again knowing if you had to wait this long?

If I knew it was going to be a year at the get-go, yes. The worst part to be was that I was told 3-6 months, then at month 5.5 Covid shut the plant down for a bit, then around the 8-11month range they basically stopped making any SX-Ps in favor of all Nightfalls, etc. That all drove me nuts. But I only buy new cars every 10-12 years so when I do, I want every current bell & whistle & safety/tech feature on the market because I know it’s my only chance to get what’s current for a long long time. So based on wanting all the bells & whistles, there is no other car in this category that can come close to the Telluride and be priced in the same ballpark. (I used the Costco program so I was able to guarantee MSRP plus a $500 Costco “discount”. If I had to pay a mark up, I would have likely gone with something else that I didn’t have to order. I would not have paid $5-10k over sticker AND waited this long.) So I would wait again, based on all that.

Congratulations! Glad your wait is finally over!!

Wow, that's quite a wait! You must be super excited! I'm picking up mine in Texas tomorrow (10 hour drive to get there from Albuquerque) but it will have "only" been 51 days from order to delivery for me. I almost feel guilty! LOL Congratulations!

What makes this a "unicorn"?

You also got GWP instead of SWP. A huge improvement IMHO 👍🏻

I’m using unicorn as an expression of how I felt about the car during my year long wait- like maybe it was a mythical creature that wasn’t real and would never actually come to fruition. Plus, she’s white and I always imagine unicorns to be white. 🤪

How did you use the Costco program? I didn't find that KIA was one of the manufacturers in the program at this time. We ordered our SX/P awd SWP/ Dune 2/23/20 the order was pulled 7/22/20 we have a ETA of 11-1-20.
