Order to delivery time

@StephenCantrelle

My husband and I spotted our VIN on failcat today exactly 6 weeks from when our order was placed. Would you happen to be able to see a delivery date? Thanks so much!

ETA showing 11-14.. hope you didn't have any wind damage... born and raised in New Orleans...

I've been seeing many orders be filled quickly. We placed ours for SX AWD Moss, Butterscotch, plus tow package on 5/16. On 8/24 we got a delivery date of 10/27, on 9/2 that was pushed to 10/29, then on 10/12 it was pushed to 11/30. We saw the VIN posted on 10/24 5XYP5DHC5MG133293 @StephenCantrelle can we still be certain about another month or expect more delays?

I appreciate you!!!
Somehow, thankfully we've made it fine through the very many hurricanes that have passed through this year. I am grateful!

Car finally came today!! I was told it would be delivered on the 2nd so was pleasantly surprised to get the call from the driver saying it’s here! Disappointed in how dirty it is but it went through Utah snow so I guess I should’ve expected it

I havent bought any car wash stuff yet. Whats the best way to clean it? Should I take it to the 100% hand wash places?

I got the opportunity to test drive a 2020 SX non AWD today. Coming from a BMW x5 so want to see how it compares

-Acceleration: Pleasantly surprised with acceleration. I think 291hp is good enough. If someone tests out a performance chip, i'd probably get one.
-Handling: Not so great. FWD really shows itself when trying to accelerate on a turn.(Cars over $35k should be at least RWD or AWD. I don't like the fact AWD is not really AWD. Is there a setting where i can tell car to always be AWD up to 20-30mph before it switches to FWD?)
-Drive Comfort and noise: Pretty good. Same or little better i would say since my x5 has low profile staggered wheels (Front: 275/40/20, Rear: 315/35/20)
-Sound system: Again x5 has a phenomenal sound system (HK 16-speaker sound system with Digital Sound Processing (DSP), 2 subwoofers under the front seats and digital 9-channel amplifier with 600 watts of power). Telluride did not compare to it but it wasn't bad :/

There is an AWD Lock button, but I don’t know if it is on all models.

Don't hold your breath on the performance chip. Nothing has been developed for previous NA Lambda engines, I highly doubt there will be one in the future.

Here is my Telly after waiting 10 months! yes , put my order in January 14th 2020 and finally came in Oct 12th. It was built Sept 10th, and took approximately 1 month to get to San Jose, Calif; (south of san francisco 45min). Thanks to stephen cantrelle who help me with the vin look up. Thanks Stephen. Any ways, its the SX Prestige Pkg, with tow pkg, awd, and Black Copper, with Light Grey interior, (looks whiteish). Fully loaded with stuff I didn't even ask for. Figures right, load it up as much as possible with extra stuff and get more money from the sap who wants it. So I paid over MSRP for it, if not, the dealer would just ask me to "step aside" there are 20 Silicon Valley Techies making 200k doing nonsense work in line that will take it....sometimes you just have to "take it", and move on...black copper kia.webp

Congrats on the new ride!

I'll have to keep an eye out for you. I'm the Ebony Black SX-P Nightfall driving around downtown.

Did you originally order it at msrp? Did it come with things you did not order? How does that work? I’m assuming I’ll get only what ai ordered at the msrp price I ordered it at. But I’m in Michigan, a more competitive market.

Forgot to mention, the rear sunroof does not actually open. Also a bummer...

I don't think Michigan is a more competitive mkt than Silicon Valley. I didn't order half the things on this telly. The only thing right was tow pkg, prestige pkg, and thats it.. didn't ask for nightfall pkg, roof rails, rear trunk skid plate, illuminating door plates,...anyways, my dealership didn't want down payments because then they are stuck to a binding contract on price. Instead when it shows up they tack on 5-7k dealer mark up. You either take it, or like I said, "step aside, please," 20 techies are in line that will take it. Why do you think houses are on average 1 million dollars here in San Jose.

Quick question, Are those the right rims for an EX FWD? Thought I would be getting the heart rims
You would have also gotten the heart rims with the EX Premium. I like the ones you got. :-)

This sounds like a dealer allocated unit or a a vehicle someone else backed out on rather than your specific order.

That seems unfair! I did pay a deposit and have an order signed by both us and the sales person. By more competitive here in Michigan, I mean because of the auto industry, the American Big 3 brands and large number of people that qualify for employee discounts and are loyal to those brands, the demand for something like the Telluride is more tempered. I ordered at msrp with an expected 3-4 month wait, but some other KIA dealers in the area are adding a premium, more in the $2000 range.
