• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Debating this decision myself as it seems like it might be a long winter this year. What tires did you go with? Definitely doesn’t look as good but like you said safety first!

I went with the new Michelin X-Ice snow tires.

Have been running Michelin snows since 2005 (three sets across two vehicles) with no issues and long tread life.

This set makes number 4 for me. In my past usage I get 7 seasons out of the tires (which is how long I keep the vehicle before getting a new one).

I resolved this problem for less $$$$.
Now that I work from home (forever), daily driving is unnecessary.
I'll drive my spouse's Murano when there's snow on the road.
Living in WI, that may mean the Telly Beast doesn't leave our heated garage until April...

Make sure you get it out once in a while. Leaving a car sit isn’t that great for it.

Battery will die. Tires will flat spot. Gas may gum up without a stabilizer. Critters may find it makes a nice home and chew your wires. Your vehicle wants to be driven.

Thanks. Actually been doing this for years.
- I have rugs under the tires.
- I slow-charge the battery every two weeks (all of my cars, actually).
- I never go more than 2 weeks without a 15-30 min drive.
- I do enough driving gas has never been a problem (I typically use ethanol free).
- And only had one critter (field mouse) about 15 years ago. (The little sheet got into the air filter area, ate a nest into that then somehow made it up to the cabin filter which he/she also chewed thru. That all would have been fine, but it also stored a ton a seed corn my wife had in the garage in the cross-member supports of the hood. I had pieces of corn falling out for years!!)
- Garage is forever fully and freshly trapped, although I now keep all doors closed while working outside, so that doesn't give the critters much time to sneak in. >:)
Happy vehicle owner!

I see you found some LX wheels, lol. I put black plasti dip on mine. Look pretty sharp, and protects the wheels from salt, etc...

I’m just going to suffer with the base model look 🤘

Have you experienced snow/ice on the stock tires? How are they? I know that Snow tires can make a world difference, especially stopping.

Last year for one short drive, but I don’t recall how they did.

I always run snow tires. The difference is performance is so high, the snow tires are not optional

My wife has an 18 Crosstrek and we put Blizzaks on hers. It's unstoppable in the snow and ice. She's scared of winter driving in MN. But she has snow tires on the last two cars she's owned (Prius and Crosstrek). They do make a huge difference. But since the Tellu is a bit heavier, I wouldn't think its needed as much as the lighter weight cars. But snow vs stock is night and day.

Well that can't be good...;)
