• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Canadian 2021 Telluride

Wasn't a fan of the looks and the interior. Was debating on the Nightsky but wife wasn't a fan of it. So we picked the hardest telluride to get in North America lol
I've been reading this forum for a while. Just decided to join. We're in the same boat as you, ordered our 2021 Telluride Sx Limited with captain chairs on July 17, the car still hasn't been built as of yet and were approaching 4 months

I'm a bit of a sucker for extended warranties. I tend to keep my cars for a long time, and the warranties have always paid off. And with all the electronics in new cars, I worry about future repairs. I just feel better paying now and then not thinking about it. I got a 10 year/200k km.
Do you mind me asking if you were able to negotiate a deal on the Canadian warranty?

I didn't even try. At that point, I had gotten $1250 off the MSRP and a good price for my trade in. Honestly, it didn't even occur to me! I basically just did the mental math on the warranty-covered repairs I had had done over the lifespan on my previous car (Honda) and decided the cost was worth it.

If it helps, they offered to me at $2500 as a final offer after I said no about 5 times, but I still refused it.

The rate that you will get is the rate that is active when you go sign the final paperwork at the dealer and bring the car home. In my case in May 2020 it was 2.49% for 60 months.

But I have an account at carcostcanada.com and for the 2020 Telluride, there is a 'Factory Finance' at 2.49% but also a 'BMO & RBC Prime Finance' at 2.99% and you get a $1000 prime rate credit discount. Before buying the car I did my own calculation in Excel and for a Telluride SX in Canada, I saved about $9.00 a month for 60 months when using the 2.99% rate and the $1000 discount before tax instead of the 2.49% rate. I had also negociated $2230 in rebate from the MSRP for the Telluride SX from my car dealer in Quebec, so in total I got a discount of $3230.

Here is a screen capture of the carcostcanada report:

Hi Michel, I'm looking for a decent dealer and I see you were able to negotiate your Telluride a cool $ 2K+. I am from Brossard. What is your dealer and maybe you can give me a salesperson name too please? Thank you very much!

The Kia dealership is Kia Des Laurentides in Saint-Jérome and my salesman was Nicolas.

They were very nice to work with.

I've been lurking on this forum for a while and finally took the plunge and ordered a Sangria SX Limited from Orangeville Kia (thanks to those that recommended this dealership).
Ryan has been great to deal with and offered the best pricing (right off the bat)!

The 4 months of waiting begins! :)

Nice! I also dealt with with Ryan and he also offered me a good price from the start. I did end up staying closer to home and went with Orillia Kia who beat Ryan's price.
They told me my Telluride should be here in 1 month but I'm surprised you said 4 months wait, is that what they told you??

No, the 4 months is what I'm guessing based on what others in this thread have experienced.
I didn't even both asking him for a date.

@ramooc and @Genblue, can you please be more specific about your prices, and overall negotiation process, as you both seem happy with the result? We need references to compare with what we might look forward in our negotiation . I might even consider to order from one of your dealerships and drive 600Km then get screwed by the Kia dealer 1 km from my home in Brossard QC :) Thank you

Orangeville Kia offered almost $2100 off MSRP. Orillia Kia beat it by a little, don't have the numbers on me at the moment but i can update you as soon as I do.
I used the email bomb tactic. Email all surrounding Sales Managers, used unhaggle for the dealer cost and just went with the one who offered the best discount.
Ordered 2021 Nightsky in white. on Nov 2nd.

Thank you for your fast answer! Did they ask for a deposit ? Refundable or not?

The discount I got was a bit better and there was no deposit required.

Ryan answered all of my questions in a straight forward manner. Even put me in touch with a Hyundai dealer to review the Palisade numbers.
Great guy (and I've never met him)!

I visited 5 other dealers and not one of the dealers in the GTA came within $2,000 of his price.
I visited one dealership, ready to buy with a deposit and they didn't give me the time of day, so I turned around and walked out.
The Car Cost Canada recommended dealer didn't even come close, even after I mentioned that I had a much better price.

I get the sense that there is very strong demand on the vehicle at the moment, so dealers (other than Ryan) are trying to take advantage of the situation but this is not have you build a customer base.

BTW, I used the Car Cost Canada Pricing Report as a lead in to each discussion. I even tried Unhaggle.

Hopefully the Telluride and the dealership will be good to us!

yes, they originally asked for $2000 deposit, I gave them $1000. They said they have 90 days to deliver the vehicle to me and if they don't in that timeframe I could receive a refund if I didn't want to wait.

Awesome to see the positive results from Orangeville Kia. Bought from there myself and the discount was in line with what you guys got all too. I pretty much took my discount and bought discounted accessories with it and just eagerly waiting for the car to arrive now.

Well everyone we cancelled our order for the telluride. The dealership was terrible to deal with. I wouldn't recommend them Kelowna Kia. We are going to go with the atlas, like the awd system and the ride. I mean it doesn't have some of the features and interior creature comforts but it is abit bigger for the family.

Atlas is a great vehicle. My neighbor has a 2020 and absolutely loves it. I was waffling on the Atlas as well. Did you get your deposit back?

Yeah I wasn't pleased with the sales manager and he pretty much said "what do you want me to do? I can give you your deposit back" I just said yes I would like my deposit back.

They never gave us a date when it was coming in. He argued that they told is us it would be here in December and that my sales guy told me it would be December as well. I just said that was a lie and just want my deposit back and we would go our separate ways. Literally 10mins later the sales guy we were dealing with texted me saying that he was giving me updates and that the vehicle would arrive in 2021......so the sales manager just said it would he December now the sales guy text me it would be sometime in 2021. You could see how I lost faith in this dealership lol lies lies lies
