If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I didn't understand until I came across this forum how complicated the ordering of a Telluride could be.

I was initially interested in a Gravity Grey SX but was also open to an Everlasting Grey (in Canada, it's "Grey," not "Silver.") I wanted bench rather than captain's seating in the second row.

So I did a search of dealerships. I could order a Gravity (two month wait) or pick up an Everlasting. I wasn't in love enough with the Gravity to wait. So I drove about an hour and purchased an Everlasting SX off the lot (black leather interior).

I'm curious about other "off the lot" purchases. I'm guessing I'm not as much of a "car person" as others here? Also, I don't think we have as many interior colour options as the US.

We bought a 2021 Gravity Grey S off the lot. Someone bought it the day before when it came off the truck. The financing didn't go through and we bought it the next morning.

I had to look up an "S." I don't think we have that in Canada. Sounds like you got lucky!

I got my LX off the lot. I came in looking for an everlasting silver, but someone got it before I could make it there. They showed me a couple GWP's, but I walked away due to the markup ($12k?!?!?), and monthly being more than I wanted. They called me an hour later with a better rate, came down on the price, and offered more for my trade in. Not the original color I wanted, but still extremely happy with the purchase.

Somewhat related, I also like the bench. Personally, I felt like the captain chairs made it feel like the inside of a minivan.

I like the bench because I would like to be able to get five people in the car with the 3rd row seats folded down. And yah, it looks less minivanny to me too.

I bought mine off the truck. I inquired about the availability of an SX Telluride and the salesman stated they had one in route that fit my specs so I put down a deposit and got it in less than a week.

In general, getting one off the lot at MSRP is the route many of us would likely have taken if they weren’t in such high demand. If you’re able to get the options you want, then great!
As for me, an order with a couple months wait is my only good option for an EXP at sticker.

You're reminding me that the day I bought my SX, a truck was pulling in as I was pulling out. Two Tellurides on it. When I went back a few days later to pick up my car, they were sold. Both EXs though. I feel lucky that I found what I wanted on the lot.

Yep, mine was an “off the lot” purchase. Went in looking at a different color but they had Gravity Gray SXP Gray interior that was just delivered, loved the color combo, they made a deal so pulled the trigger!

Yes, I bought off the lot here in Canada. I picked up a '21 SX Limited Dark Moss Nightfall edition in September. I was looking to order one after test driving a regular SX Limited but came across a listing on autotrader.ca of one available at a dealer about 30 minutes away. Because I wanted nightfall there were really not that many options to consider especially here in Canada where compared to the USA we are very limited in options. An example of this is Nightfall is only available with black (regular) leather seats as your only choice. As the Nightfall SXL is so well equiped all the other things I could possibly have ordered on a new build like tow package and roof bars were items I could always get later, so I decided to pull the trigger. Glad I did as I potentially avoided a prolonged wait time (as I'm sure you've read some crazy wait time stories on this forum).

I drove a Sangria SXL at one dealership. They had that car available and also a black SX with brown leather. Both great cars but I didn't want those colours. I did find what I wanted and bought it the day I looked at it. I didn't realize at the time, though, that if I ordered something it could take as long as others have reported here. One dealer said it would be a two-month wait, which I guess wasn't terrible, but I couldn't quite imagine being patient enough for that. I have never waited for a car before (except maybe to have one moved from one dealer to another, simple stuff like that). Interesting to hear your story.

My dealer had 2 Gravity Grey EX Tellurides on their lot. So i called to test drive 1 of them the same day. They said they would still be there. The dealership was an hour away selling at MSRP. Grabbed the wife and headed that way. And of course they both sold within that drive to the dealership. They said they had an Everlasting Silver S trim with everything we wanted on the way in 2 weeks. We threw down the deposit and 5 days later we drove it home. I've never loved a vehicle as much as this one
