2021 telluride 2 weeks old won’t start. :(

Our brand new 2 week old telluride ex won’t start. My parents were so excited to go for a ride today and get in the car and it’s just clicking when starting and all the lights are illuminated and going crazy. I’m thinking we have a bad battery but still this plus Kia refusing to release title to our Sedona I’m not a Kia fan today. Car barely has 800 miles on it. Anyone else have this with their Telly? Gonna download UVO and see if it can tell us the issue. What a let down to show off your brand new car only to have it not start.

Aw man, that sounds terrible. Feel for you. It does sound like a battery issue. If it's any consolation, this just happened to my partner with his new pickup. Battery was swapped and all is well. Just a random thing, but no fun.

Yah. My guy just swallowed the cost of the battery and swapped it out himself. Not ideal, but expedient and just one of those things.

About 6 years ago, had a Nissan that was 2 weeks old, dead battery. Just get a bad battery once in a while. No bueno.

Gonna try jumping it today otherwise we have Kia roadside but unsure if they tow

Just FYI your engine has to be running for UVO to diagnose anything. I’ll post back if this was indeed the battery tomorrow.

It was the battery (obviously) and the dealership gave us a brand new one. Said the tech in these cars any time you leave the car in idle with battery on but not engine on it will drain car so fast and “lot rot” even though these don’t sit for long happens when your dealership is getting the car ready and have everything on while detailing the car. Plus the battery prob wasn’t great to begin with.
