• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anyone know of a way to change the time the radio stays on after you shut off engine, but before you open a door? Lots of times I enjoy listening to the news while the wife goes in shopping, but I find myself going to accessories to get the radio back on. And when you do this you get the constant nag of "battery discharge" message. I find the delay as set is somewhat under 5 minutes, would love to extend this.

Short answer: No
People have not found a way to disable the warning.

Once you press accessory from off or opening the door (after engine off), it should stay on for about an hour. To get rid of the beeping:

Settings, Sound,Volume,System Sound,Beep, then move the beep slider to zero

It will still show the discharge warning, bit at least you won’t hear any beeping. Will auto shut off in an hour, at that point just press accessory again for another hour.

Thanks for replies. I was afraid that was the answer. I have used the accessory function before, but was afraid I was powering up other things besides the radio. From all the information on this site, the battery is a very touchy item. Have never encountered this in any other car before.

Wait, did you get an answer to this question? I too would like to play the radio longer after cutting the engine (without having to bother with restarting the accessory function). I don't care if the battery light comes on, doesn't bother me. Just hoping I can sit and listen for more than a few minutes....
