If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi y’all - I put $ down with a dealer to order a SXP nightfall about 5 weeks ago but now they’re telling me that they haven’t actually gotten allocations to order my vehicle yet. What’s a reasonable amount of time that getting the order actually placed with Kia should take? I’m fine to wait for actual mfg and delivery once the order is accepted but I don’t want to sit around forever without my order even being placed. But I want to be reasonable with my expectations.
Is it normal to wait a few months just to get your order actually placed or are they jerking me around?

It is normal for an order to be sitting on dealer queue for a while. It all depends on how many orders are in front of you and how many allocation the dealer gets every month. Kia ordering system opens/closes around every mid-month and that is only time dealers are able to put new orders in. Your dealer should be able to tell you how many are in front of you and approximately tell you when your order can be entered in.

I placed a deposit in July and order was allocated a week ago. Long waits can be common with small dealers.

Mine was almost seven and half months. That was through the pandemic shutdown. There are many others out there that waited longer, if you browse this forum you will see them. Look at Non Nightfall SX Prestige waiting room thread. Now it depends a lot on the dealer allocations.

If it takes long enough, I'm assuming you get the next year model, correct? Place an order for a '20 in July and it is delivered in Feb of 2021 it better be a '21.

With the number of customers waiting for SXPs, limited production capacity and limited dealer allocations per month, it's perfectly normal to wait a few months after your initial deposit to get into the system.

I finally got my beautiful Telluride today after a three and-a-half month wait and it was definitely worth the wait :)
