• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So my brand new Telluride broke down after 1600km on Dec 7th. It got towed to the nearby dealer and after about a week of investigating, they said a new power steering motor assembly was required. Not the greatest thing to have your power steering go out suddenly on the highway.

Till today it is still not fixed as they are waiting for the part. I also don't see anything happening for the next week. They gave me a small Kia Soul as a loaner car.

Whats the longest you have waited on Kia for repairs? I already wrote a complain to Kia Canada - I don't see how it can take so long to get the part. It's likely the same part as 2020 model so they should have them readily available by now.

Sorry to hear the trouble you are going through - can I ask you what the build date on your Telluride was?

I can't answer your question directly, but I do know that the pandemic has slowed down the supply chain considerably. My son's car got rear-ended earlier this year (VW) and the whole repair process was slower than normal because of waiting for parts. For Kia, I ordered TPMS sensors for my winter tires and the dealership says they should be in around the end of January. Just to say - that's an unusual delay from their POV. Feel for you having to wait so long. Not fun.

I believe the car was built end of September.

Ok thank you - I'm the first week of October and am having different issues.

Trying to figure out if some of our issues could be installation related...maybe a new shift of employees added to the assembly line?

Glad you are safe though given your incident sounds scary.

What kind of issues are you having? I also had all my sensors go crazy at that same time. Blind spot, front collision, high beam assist, etc. They through there was interference but ultimately said a new power steering assembly is required... not sure how that’s related.

Holy hell I would have freaked out if that happened. Glad you were able to pull over...and agree how Kia got to that conclusion - who knows? Issue is we have to believe Kia Tech line...

I'm having the dreaded Vibration issues. It's not tire related - they already road force balanced them. No luck.

Yikes, got some crazy news today. The part will not arrive until Jan 27th. That means by the time its installed, the car would have been at the dealership for almost 2 months. Definitely reaching out to Kia Canada about this.

Anyone have any suggestions on the correct way to do that?

Well they told me part is coming in Jan 27th. That means by the time it’s all fixed up, it will be at the shop for almost 2 months. That’s just crazy. Trying to see what kind of compensation Kia Canada will provide here. They are giving a rental car, but I only had the car for 2 weeks, and it’s brand new and I make my monthly payments for a car I can’t even use...

This thread is making me nervous. Unlike other threads where there are complaints of minor fit and finish issues, these are concerning to me.

One member experiencing a power steering problem shouldn’t be concerning. He’ll get it fixed.

considering the occurrence rate of 1 in the total amount of cars made, I would say you should be fine.

Take a good hour or 2 inspecting it upon delivery. If something doesn't pass your smell test tell them no deal.

I do think it's roulette at this moment which ones are having issues versus ones that are good to go. Odds are more in your favor that things will be fine instead of vice versa.

Your tone would be much different if you were waiting 2 months for a part to fix your car lol. It’s also the same part you and everyone has in their cars. I definitely won’t trust it as much anymore, even with “a fixed part”.

You’re probably correct although I was rear ended once and the collision shop had my 6 month old car for 4 months because parts had to come direct from the manufacturer. So I’ve been in your shoes.
