If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey guys- 2021 EX owner here looking to try to find some answers. I've got a rear dome light rattle that comes and goes as it pleases depending on how smooth the road is. I've noticed a few people in the groups have mentioned this as well- has there been an actual fix from Kia ? My dealer said they didn't hear anything so they just said it was fine. I'll be sending detailed video to prove it when I return to the shop but if anyone has found some solutions that would be very helpful.

I'm also hearing wind noise past 45mph on the drivers seat only- Kia said that's normal too at Rick Case Kia In Duluth, GA. I'm not sure how wind noise on one side is normal if it's not on the other? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated as I try to sort these issues out.

Definitely no dome light rattle in my car. And I haven't noticed any difference in wind noise as either the driver or passenger. Car is super quiet overall re rattles and wind.

I know that doesn't help you with a fix - just a point of comparison.

Yeah that's what the general consensus is. I know it's a problem with my car so i'm hoping I can find someone who has solved the issue. Appreciate you sharing that.

Regarding the wind noise....I had a similar issue on the drivers side only and noticed that the rubber seal on the rear door that forms a seal between the front and rear door was not properly installed. I was able to push the seal back into position and things got much quieter. Not sure if this is your problem, but worth a check.

Is this what you are referring to?

That's it. I had about 6-8 inches towards the upper part of that seal not properly installed and it didn't form a good seal between the doors. When I pushed it back into position, road noise was reduced.

I just went back out and noticed this as wel and pushed it back in. Thanks I’ll see how this goes!

Regarding the dome noise, try gently pushing up on the light assembly. You should hear a slight “snap”.

Thanks yeah I’ve done this a few times - I think basically the bumps knock something out of alignment . I do notice the rattle stops when I press up - but I feel It’s only temporarily fixing the issue . Wondering if they have any insulation they could add to provide additional support .

Did this resolve your wind noise?
Unfortunately no it did not - I do believe it lessened the intensity but I believe the location you pointed out is the culprit. I honestly don’t know the best way to get my dealer to figure this out when I go back on the 28th so hopefully mentioning this as well as capturing video will help. I love this SUV but this is a bit annoying . Appreciate your insight !

Dan, did they solve your problems?

I have a 2022 Kia Telluride SX Nightfall and I also have the dome rattle. I know someone else that has a Telluride that has the same issue. I brought mine in and they said there is a fix for it and that is they use double sided tape when installing the dome light. Unfortunately, it worked for a while and is now rattling again. I'm going to bring it back in and see if they can do something about it.

Did you ever take it to them to get it fixed? I mentioned it on my last service and they said that "some clips were missing in the headliner and they replaced under warranty" Before I got home it started again and I swear it's twice as loud. It sounds like a woodpecker is in my ear every time I drive which is driving me nuts. I had some 2mm foam delivered today I'm going to try and wedge in there for my sanity but hoping for a permanent fix.

When I took mine in for the dome light rattle (which was replaced before to address the noise - it didn't) the dealer said it was not the light but the missing clips on those ceiling vents that were making the noise. The dealer "ordered them" but they never came in. The rattling noise is sporadic and it is super annoying. I managed to wedge in a plastic straw one day and that stopped it but when I took it out it started again. Did the foam work for you? If so, how did you install it - did you have to take the whole light out? Thank you!

There is a YouTube video of a guy fixing it. There is some cheap plastic piece that comes loose and chatter against the dome. He took a heavy duty glue, glued everything down, waited for it to dry, then popped it back into place, rattles gone. I need to do it, ours is as bad as the posts above. I've tried the foam, dealer, nothing has worked. I'll try it next weekend and follow-up.

I tried to reply to the post above with the link to the video. Said it was spammy. Yeah it's that plastic piece where the adhesive has failed. Clips might be rattling but the plastic ring coming unglued is the cause (and flapping). (
) I Got some e6000 and the little trim tool kit. Gonna try and video the process. Was planning to do it this weekend but have two small kids. Maybe this week I will carve out the time. Ditto the above comment, foam doesn't work.

Oh wow, thank you for finding this! I am not as skilled as this gent so I am pretty sure disassembling all of this would result in broken pieces/clips and messed up wires :). I wonder if the dealer would do this under warranty if I showed the video.

If you have a good dealer. Mine said they fixed it, they didn't and then wanted to replace the entire headliner. I just did it this past weekend and it's fixed. Was not that bad, video was a huge huge, help.

Echoing Patsfan29, I completed it this weekend and the rattle is gone! I used the tool kit from the video and glue from the video (E6000), also got a bag of anvil multi-size clamps for $10 which was helpful. Let it sit for 24 hours and it seems good to go. Also as Patsfan said check out the video, start on the sides, then toward rear, then it will pop down.
