• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We've had our Telluride for over a year now. (2024 model, bought new.) It has about 14,000 miles on it including two trips from the east coast of Iowa to Anna Maria, Florida and one trip to northern Wisconsin / OP of michigan.

No problems. No leaks. No trim issues. No discernible oil consumption. No software issues. No problems.

I like the engine / transmission and brakes lots better than the 4 cylinder Toyota Grand Highlander I test drove. I also prefer the interior and exterior styling to the Toyotas. Toyota's styling has been described as "uninspired". I agree.

The Telluride has good ride and handling, too. I'm sure the Highlander would have been OK in that department.

The "premium" sound system is good but not great. Lots about that on this forum.

The Michelin tires have been good through 1 1/2 Iowa winters. Still, when I replace them it might be Pirelli Scorpions because I had those on a Murano and thought they were the best tires I've ever had.

My only beef is a glitchy Bluetooth connection. OK, so maybe that's a problem but it's minor. It's like it hiccups every 10 to 20 seconds. Sort of like a record skipping. Doesn't do it every time, but most times that I Bluetooth Pandora or a podcast from my iPhone 16 Pro.

I don't know if it's a concern, really, but I wonder if the solid valve lifters, gasoline direct injection and Atkinson engine design really add significantly to gas mileage. The solid lifters will eventually need to be adjusted. The GDI has me using only high detergent "Top Tier" gasoline and that's sometime a pain. I'm also adding a can of BG Platinum 44 fuel system cleaner every 5,000 miles. Still, I might still need a heads-off valve and upper cylinder area cleaning some day. So, these "advanced" features come with some cost and inconvenience so I'm curious as to how much is saved in mileage and pollution.

In sum, I'me very happy with my purchase of a '24 Telluride and would do it again. It's been great on vacations with the mini Bernedoodle in the back seat and tons of our crap in the back.
