Latest response below. Make sure to send them your thoughts and we can probably get some good changes for spring update. The most important thing to me is map updates and these user interfaces come with map updates so we need to keep things in check to get our updated maps and not lose user interface controls and visuals we like...

I just came back from our weekly meeting with our engineering and supervisory team. Many customers have also voiced the way they dislike the display on the generation 5 wide models. I just wanted to let you know your voices are being heard. I cannot make any promises, but I expect this may be something is addressed. I would reach out to us in the spring to see if the new update removes some of these features.

This is good to hear that are at least taking the time to acknowledeg the concerns and not just blowing it off. Fingers crossed for better things to come.

Finally got a chance to update. I don't use much of SiriusXM so the new SiriusXM UI doesn't bother me much. I do however like the new "Media" UI. USB media files now shows up and can be categorize by Files, Artists, Songs, Albums and Recently Added. After spending about 30 minuets playing around with the new updates, I'm loving it.

Finally got a chance to update. I don't use much of SiriusXM so the new SiriusXM UI doesn't bother me much. I do however like the new "Media" UI. USB media files now shows up and can be categorize by Files, Artists, Songs, Albums and Recently Added. After spending about 30 minuets playing around with the new updates, I'm loving it.

Actually, this is nothing new. I have the same functionality in the previous version.

What I like about the new update is that the sound settings and radio buttons for each user in the profile is personalized and remembered. Don't like the home screen or the radio skin.

I summitted a complaint on the following website regarding 14.1 update. Online Support | Official Kia Motors Navigation Update Website. I said they should go back to the custom widget interface or provide a lot more customization to the home screen.

I got a response very quickly with a request for photos. I replied with the attached.

I suggest others issue complaints to push this along.

I just submitted a similar complaint to same place. I listed some of the good things about the update, but also some of the not-so-good things.

3. With Apple CarPlay, you can either take up the entire screen or 2/3 of the screen, depending on your preference. Setup > device connections, choose CarPlay. Check or uncheck split screen. If you check split screen, CarPlay will only take up the 2/3 portion and you will have the split screen options available to you.

I got this figured out so thank you! I was always going into the display tab and making sure the split screen box was checked and would of never gone into the devices tab
to your liking.

As I was sitting in the Walgreen's drive through, I was looking through the settings for the new upgrade. I was lamenting the loss of my previous locations from navigation. They were stored in the guest profile, not my customized "user1(your name here)" profile. I found a setting to export and import navigation data. I took my USB and changed to the guest profile, exported the data, changed back to my profile and imported. They all showed up. One less thing that I don't like about the update.

A sticky post or pinned post feature would be useful if @Telluride Forum can implement. Easier to find answered questions in a long thread.

If you are concerned about your navigation/radio presets being “lost,” pull up your guest profile. They should be in there. Mine all were.

Yes, you did mention that the data did exist in the guest profile ( a couple of times) but not about the ability to transfer the data between profiles.

I honestly feel like I’m constantly saying the same thing over and over both here and on Facebook, so I sometimes forget where I said what and how much I elaborated.

I wish more people did what you did, though... do some digging around on your own and try to find out things yourself. You typically find out a lot that way!

I'm regretting my upgrade, but it seems for different reasons than everyone else.

Is anyone bummed that now the radio presets have to be in ascending numeric order? This means I can't select which SXM stations will record. It will always be the lowest 7 (I think it's 7) on the dial.

Also, I'm not happy that they removed the SXM channel logos from presets. I don't know about you, but I don't have all my channels memorized by channel number. I would see the logo and know what I was tuning to.

With all that's going on in the world, these inconveniences are minor, but I'm stumped why Kia would actively remove such key convenience features.

You will definitely need at least a 32 GB USB stick.

I have the v14 update from back in april (v14.5 was the same infotanment but slightly newer maps) on my google drive. The mods didnt like me posting it to people because the updates back then cost $25 for a usb stick- Maybe I can post now since they are free?
Anyways, I doubt it will let us go back to an old version.
I also contacts kia/mapnsoft today to complain about this update- mostly hated on the new home screen and radio (especially for siriusxm info)

Can you please give it to me? Share on the forum or via drive?
I have an idea how I can try to reload the old version.

I downloaded the update last night. I live in the Boonies and only get about 1 MBs download speeds so it takes a few hours. I installed it and found that I can now reply to incoming text messages using an Android phone. But.... There are no maps. I checked and the download I got was 5.99 GB. I'll have to try again tonight. Now all I have to do is get used to that weird radio screen. It is the pits.

Just got our 2021 back from the dealer after the navigation screen went out. It came with this update and I miss the three screen layout. Being able to adjust the main color would seem like a no-brainer. I have a dark moss nightfall with dune brown and now a purple head unit. It should match your ambient lighting settings.
