• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I've read up on this issue several times over the last year but now I can't seem to find the thread that told how the dealer finally fixed the problem. I was hoping to print it off and give to my dealer. They tried burping the coolant system and thought that would fix it, but it didn't. The heat works fine at highway speeds but it blows out cool at idle or low speeds for about the first hour it's driven. It's been like that since I got it and it's aggravating. I paid for a rental 2x now and finally the dealer admitted they were able to "replicate" my issue but have yet to fix it.

Ask your dealer if this was one of the reasons KIA changed the heaters in the 2021 AWD models. Might be so. GL

Yes thank you. It looks like nobody's issues have really been resolved though. One person said Kia developed a special bleed procedure but they thought I was craxy when I called and said that. There's no TSB for it so basically they aren't admitting there's an issue. My dealer finally agreed to burp the system last week and said tons of bubbles came out so they are sure it fixed it. It didn't. I think it's related to air in the system because of the rear heater. Maybe the water pump isn't big enough to circulate it? Probably why they upgraded the 2021 system...

I took my 2020 in for an oil change and had them look at the heater problem. They said the thermostat was stuck open and not allowing the coolant to flow all the time and warming up. They replaced the thermostat and let it idle for 30 minutes and it got hot and stayed hot. Haven't had the issue again.

Weird. They supposedly flushed mine and swapped the upper and lower hoses about 2 weeks ago. Now I discovered this past week they have caused it to leak antifreeze so I have to go back again...

Holy smokes, that sucks! I always wonder where some of these dealers find their mechanics. I had one tell me once that the reason the windshield fluid sprayed so weak was because Ford was going green. My husband pulled the protector off the hood, it wasn't even connected to both of the nozzles.
Hopefully they get it right this time. Mine is blowing nice and hot at all the stop lights.

Still not convinced a thermostat is the issue unless they had a batch of bad ones with weak springs or something.
