• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 SX or 2021 EX?

I’m not sure what pictures you’re looking at, but the SX in those pictures clearly has seven seats. It’s definitely Canadian as I mentioned, but it’s not an 8-seat version.

I stand corrrected, I was focused on the 3rd row instead of second row. Time to schedule my annual eye checkup.

Enjoy the ride Canadian Telluride

Correct, the Canadian SX-L does have captains chairs. However, the picture you're referring to from the OP's linked post is of a US-spec 2021 EX-Premium - which offered captain's chairs as part of the Premium package. The Carfax indicates it was originally purchased in New Hampshire. The 2nd link is most definately a Canadian spec 2020 SX model with bench seats. The Carfax indicates it was originally purchased in Salaberry-De-Valleyfield Quebec. Although cleared as "sellable" in the US by the Feds, Kia US may not honor the original factory warranty.

This is the back seat of the linked EX Premium:

Like I’ve said a few times now, this car in question has to be a Canadian SX-L. Which is why it has 7 seats. The regular Canadian SX has 8.

I think this situation shows just how important it is to be a well-informed buyer.

Reading the original question, I would have said in a heartbeat SX over the EX, especially if they’re somehow nearly the same price (which itself raised a few questions).

But when you actually see the cars in question and see that the SX is a Canadian import, that flips the whole thing on its head.

The Canadian one will never be able to be registered for Kia Access (UVO) with the US app. And you’ll never be able to use any of the connected services here, because the car’s cell signal isn’t set up to roam into the US. And don’t even think about warranty, unless you want to trek to Canada every time something goes wrong (hopefully it won’t).

There are a lot of these gray-market Canadian models coming to the US and being sold to unsuspecting customers, often for significant markups. Hopefully no one reading this forum becomes one of them.

You’re right, I never noticed it was Canadian until someon mentioned it. It was actually sold today as it’s no longer available on the website- I didn’t have any time this week to visit the dealership
