• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2020 update 1 Available

I just updated my 2020 as well. Took me several tries. Don't know what I was doing wrong, but it worked this time. My UVO expired in July. Can confirm that I now have Foreca weather, whereas I never had weather before because of no HD radios stations in my area.

Everyone has the Lite subscription for the first five years of ownership. Perhaps weather is included in that time Period.

Sorry in advance if this has been mentioned before - wasn't up to reading thru 20+ pages of posts o_O

I just found out, even after finding evidence to the contrary (see below), that the ability to dictate outgoing text messages requires the $30/mo plan to continue after the complimentary ends.

That's :poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop: :mad:

That may be true if you are using the UVO system feature.

But if you hold the voice button on your wheel to activate Siri on your iPhone (or Assistant on Android), you can do whatever you want and more.

Was everybody able to get the Windows updater for KIA to load files into their USB drives successfully?

Even after formatting to FAT32 (had to use MiniTool) the updater still couldn’t recognize my Sandisk Cruzer Glide 64GB. Going to try dragging and dropping the 17 files into the root directory of the USB.

Yes, all files should be placed into the root, i.e. no additional folder.
Mine was formatted as NTFS.

Do recent builds (Sept 20 onwards) have the latest update?

September 20 is very recent and very few people around that build date are likely to have their cars yet. However, every indication has been no. The units shipping from the factory are running software and maps that are fairly dated.

just received my Telluride yesterday and wonder how to find the firmware version. Bets I can tell my numbers do not match. Only thing I did find was under system info, firmware ver. ON.USA.291.200805.MICOM.D. I have an "S" model build date was 9/15/2020.

If you have an S, you don’t need to be worried about updates. All of the updates are centered around maps and with the navigation system, which you don’t have. Your head unit is completely different from that of the EX and SX.

Kia does not have a way for consumers to update their non-navigation-equipped systems currently, with the exception of when they added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to some models a few years ago.

Thank you, I was wondering where the USB might be

Haven’t done any updates yet, but can CarPlay show in full screen? Not a fan of the split screen. Didn’t see a menu option to disable split screen.

As long as you have 14.0 or up, you can choose whichever one you want.

Setup > device connections > CarPlay (or Android Auto) and then check or uncheck split screen to your liking.

Android Auto users want to make sure split screen is enabled because it won’t take up the full screen one way or another. So they might as well have the ability to show other stuff other than a black box.

Ok, I don’t think I’m on 14.0, will update. Thanks!

If your nav version is 13.41.x or above, you’re on 14.0.

13.47.x was the new map-only 14.5 update this fall.

Ah ok I can’t remember and I’m too lazy to go out and check right now. 😂 Thanks for the info!

After performing the update from pre version 14 to 14.5, there isn’t really anything noticeably different until you dig into the settings. My observations:
  • Have the latest maps now if needed when using UVO navigation, buttons looked refreshed on the map (hopefully won’t lose address input functionality when my UVO subscription runs out now too)
  • Settings menu is now missing the first icon (can’t even recall what it used to be). It’s just a blank space
  • Had to re-enable the “Call 911” feature when airbags are deployed in UVO settings
  • Had to re-adjust my navigation voice guidance preference to standard instead of beginner (less details)
  • Missing album art from HD radio, doesn’t scroll song artist/title either in the main screen unless you disable HD radio
  • Sound settings no longer has an image of the cabin for balance/fade. It is just scroll bar adjustments

Did you have any HD radio data at all before the update? Mine has never shown artist info or anything other than the station frequency and I’m pre-14.

I used to have the weather all the time, since the update I have no weather available. Just the opposite of most people...LOL

HD radio data still works for traffic info. I used to have the station graphic at the least. Sometimes album art. Now it is just a blank square all the time when on the radio screen. I guess on the main screen it doesn’t make much difference.

Down side to living somewhere with better HD radio reception than cell service.

Got great cell service too, maybe because my UVO expired and I didn't renew with the top tier package. It's really no big deal as when I'm in the car, there are windows and the outside temp is displayed on the dash for me to make my own conclusions what the weather is like...lol
