• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2021 Map N Soft Update

I'm super disappointed in that change list.

Nope, still not doing it. I was hoping they would add in an option to choose the legacy GUI or the purple screen. The change list almost appears that they are doubling down on the purple screen. I will be very interested to see what's what once somebody post pics for us all to see.

Android auto would have been nice. I was really hoping they would be adding wireless Android auto. I thought I read somewhere that they could enable it in a software update. Or is that not the case? Anyways, still rolling with the original software at the moment.

Just finished the update...STILL no Android Auto widescreen. WOW!!
how long did it take to upgrade the car?
took about 1 hour to create the USB update drive for me.

It is possible that Telluride, just like Sorento, is equipped with BCM89359 5G WiFi/Bluetooth Smart 2X2 MIMO Combo Chip with RSDB Support. Its key features are:
  • Optimized for seamless interaction with enhanced wireless applications and feature-rich systems like Apple CarPlay and Google Auto Link, the BCM89359 device is the first WLAN combo architected specifically for multi-band concurrent automotive infotainment and telematics operation.
  • RSDB support enables simultaneous connectivity to the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands, improving throughput and latency when using multiple applications.
  • Integrated 5G WiFi technology provides the bandwidth required for multiple high resolution in-car displays, allowing uncongested 5GHz video to coexist concurrently with Wi-Fi Internet access and 2.4GHz Bluetooth hands-free audio.
  • 2x2 MIMO technology delivers twice the Wi-Fi performance of any other solution on the market today, providing the highest throughput in-car network possible for multiple user experiences.
  • A dedicated Bluetooth antenna enables concurrent operation of Bluetooth and WLAN applications and employs advanced coexistence algorithms to maximize voice quality and data access speed in simultaneous operation.
So yes, probably it is just a matter of software update.

Thanks for posting this information. That's good news. I wish they would just do it already.

Wifi would be nice; who would provide that service?

I’ve been beating this drum for a while, but everyone is nuts if they think Kia/Hyundai is going to just push out an update and magically enable wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.

They are already shipping new low-end 8” systems that support this on models along with 10.25” systems (the same one that’s in the Telluride) that don’t. If the 10.25” system really was capable of supporting it, why doesn’t it already? While it would be great if it was possible, and the added functionality would be awesome, it again goes back to my first question… if it could do it in the first place, and lower-end models already supported this feature from the outset, why didn’t the nicer systems?

Now, widescreen Android Auto on the other hand… that is something that should be easy to add support for in software. Widescreen AA wasn’t a thing when the Telluride first released and these 10.25” screens were becoming available. So it doesn’t even think it’s a possibly and doesn’t try to show it. But widescreen AA is a thing now, and in theory the Telluride and other 10.25” Kia/Hyundai models could support it. However, at least four software updates later… nothing. So I wouldn’t really hold my breath for this, either.

I agree that wireless AA seems quite unlikely to me (even if the hardware chip technically supports it). Most of my opinion on this is based on how disappointing their releases have been, and knowing that it would be exceptionally impressive for a manufacturer to implement this kind of software capability 2 years after a car is released.

I'm quite disappointed that AA widescreen is not implemented. I can't speak for everyone, but I feel like it's a huge waste of time and resources to be focusing on the native navigation system and speech recognition when AA and Carplay are both superior and universally available.

This is really such a crock of sh*t that they cant fix the Widescreen android auto. its such a beautiful car and yet us (android) users are stuck with this BS display, I really shouldnt have to contemplate changing from Android to Apple phones just so my car integration would work better. I am sure other people have brought it up, but I have reached out to both KIA and Mapnsoft and each point the finger at each other for the widescreen issue, idk if anyone has had luck. But now it looks like it will be another 4-5 months of this crap...

So bottom line for those that have upgraded.

If you already have the purple screen from last update, might as well do this update, since not losing anything?

If you still have the 3 tile system, then don't upgrade.

Sound about right? (I already have the purple screen, so I see no reason no to upgrade)

Honestly I am a bit frustrated with the update..

Why and the hell would they make the radio buttons smaller with LESS context. SXM8 - that is awesome if I memorize every channel that I have saved in my presets!

Not to mention this was not in the release notes so you have no way of knowing this change was happening until after you complete it. These small things prove that they clearly are not making changes based on any UI testing with actual end users.

Am I missing something with the weather widget? I have seen a few comments here and there about people never having UVO or their UVO subscription ending and they still see (presumably?) HD weather data. All I see is an external temperature.

There is an arrow beside "today" that switches to forecast

Where are you referring to?

If I click on UVO then weather it wants me to activate UVO which I don't want to do.

Other users seem to have insinuated they still have weather without UVO.
