• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2021 Official Training Material

Guys at this point I have been told that my car EtA is 6/7 the first ETA date waiting transit was mid May. I ordered in Dec of 19 and it has been 5 months long wait. I am sure covid added to that time.

I am almost tempted to drive to Georgia and pick up my car from the factory as they just cannot find trucks to bring it down to the dealer.

As far all the 2021 features I will miss at this point I just have to live with it. Now we ordered black copper with Dune as wife did not like the grey or black interior. That limited us to few exterior colors.

What I will be bummed about is if the Wolfe grey turns out to be a killer color. As of now not a fan of Gravity Grey or Everlasting Silver the closest color to Grey in 2020 colors.
I understand you were kidding when you stated you'd pick up the car at the plant. Keep in mind that you are not the "owner" of the vehicle until the selling dealer delivers it to you. I can relate. Your enthusiasm reminded me of the time I told my local Audi dealer that I wanted to go to the port and pick up my new S7. They actually went to the port for me and drove the car back to the dealer to expedite delivery (in time for a long weekend) :) Huge.

Enjoy the ride.

Ice freezes to the LEDs. Not so great for those of us in cold weather states... just saying they aren’t perfect.

I live in a cold state and my previous car had LEDs. My brother's car too. But we never had problems.

Don't know, we went to Germany and picked up an Audi and a BMW from the plant on two separate occasions after purchasing it from the dealer <G>. KIA could figure out how to do that and turn it into a buyers experience like these two manufactures have. There is nothing that says you have to pick up a vehicle at the dealer once it is ready, that is for the manufacturer to figure out.

Agree. Perhaps Kia could benefit from such a program. I believe Chevy has a similar program w/the Corvette. (I think Saturn had something similar in TN)
As you're aware, The BMW and Audi programs are designed to heighten brand affinity and tourism. There are some EU gov't monies subsidizing portions of those programs (hotel stays, etc..) The logistics have to be spot on to allow for scheduling / pick up / travel. I think Kia has a ways to go before they achieve that level of mastery over the production process.

I expect that KFOS will open next month at or around the 15th. We already know 2020 order books are closed. So as soon as KFOS opens up - 2021's will start being processed.

Catching up on this thread so someone might've already provided a more concrete answer, but my dealer in Northern California is telling me that she expects KFOS to release the 2021s in July

KIA Forward Order System

This is the system KIA uses to release allocations and allow dealers to input sold orders for order for production. Most of us still waiting for a car are either waiting for an ETA for delivery - or waiting for a spot to come up in KFOS for the dealer to move our names from the waiting list to a sold order for production. If you aren't in KFOS yet with an ETA - you will be getting a 2021 whenever they release them for production.

Man I hope not...but until 6/15 rolls around - all we can do is wait to see if it for sure isn't June.

My dealer keeps saying that hes being told by an RVP for KIA that 6/15 is an "important date" for an update...assuming it's for 2021 orders.

He said I'm #4 on the list for people wanting 2021s...but all of those orders are going in 6/15, presuming that is the date orders will go in...he's still got an ETA of Sept 2020 for June 2021 Orders that go into the system, which seems right...someone said Dec 2020 on a different post...that makes no sense to me...

I have auto start installed at bestbuy. They installer programmed my keyfob to autostart the car. 3 presses on the keyfob lock button the car will start. It was the compustar brand. I got it on sale for $300 including installation.

Do you know which compustar you got? I looked and they had many models of and they start round 300 not including installation. Thanks,

Is doing this going to void the warranty?

you guys understand you might be wasting your money right?

There is a slight chance that this functionality comes to 2020s when the 2021MY is released...

Yea but not for free. I'd say $2-400 is reasonable for this feature, either aftermarket or for your dealer to update your 2020 come this fall if KIA makes it available.

Negative but that makes sense... and is what I’ve been thinking and saying imo. We have virtual training this week and next on the 2021 Telluride... so all is lining up.. I picked the first day for training which is Thursday mid day.. obviously I will share what I learn.
